Friday’s Racing at York Previewed with Free Tickets for Saturday!
We sponsor the 4.10 race at York on Friday, the BetBright For Your World Cup Bets Choose EBF Nominated Fillies’ Stakes. Yes, we know it’s a mouthful! It’s a race for the girls, a handicap, and will be run over six furlongs. At the time of writing, nine horses have been declared to run.
In a nine-runner field there shouldn’t be any draw bias to overcome. In terms of pace, Bondesire and Mar Mar – our pick in the betting market – like to get on with things, while one or two more have raced prominently in the past.
Jeremy Noseda’s The Gold Cheongsam is a classy type on her day, but her two efforts this season have been below par. She may want further than six furlongs nowadays and with her returning from a break, we’ll look elsewhere.
Bondesire, Royal Rascal and Love Island are all closely matched given the three met at Chester on the 31st of May. Bondesire came out on top this day with Royal Rascal second and Love Island third. Bondesire won well and comfortably held Royal Rascal and Love Island.
She did have the run of the race around Chester, however and now on a more conventional track has her work cut-out to uphold the form on worse terms. Royal Rascal ranks high on our list given her great York form and herself and Love Island, who has Ryan Moore aboard, should be shortlisted.
Godolphin’s Mar Mar is a consistent, yet somewhat frustrating horse. She has run so many good races and holds her form well, but yet, has only a maiden win to her name. This looks a drop in class, though so she is fully respected.
Rocksilla is not overly looked easily, but she must bounce back from a poor effort last time out and there is a suspicion this trip may prove her minimum at his time in her career. Willbeme was a good winner last time out, but this is a step-up in class. The old boy Misplaced Fortune and the returning Maid A Million are too looked past.
The BetBright Verdict
Of the Chester pair, Royal Rascal and Love Island, the former is just preferred given she is better off at the weights. Her strong course form is also a positive, but with a drop in class MAR MAR may finally be able to get her head in front again for Godolphin. She rarely runs a bad race and Friday’s quicker ground may see her take some catching. She can reward each-way support.
