BetBright customers descend upon Kempton Park for another fine evening of all-weather racing.
We’re delighted to be welcoming a whole host of BetBright customers for this evening’s racing at Kempton!
Those shrewd punters who’ve availed of our free Kempton ticket giveaways of late will hopefully enjoy another sunny evening and bag themselves a few winners with the help of our racecard preview and tips for the evening.
5.40 – BetBright Mobile Apprentice Handicap (1m3f)
Although he’s run poorly on his last few starts, it may pay to chance Thane of Cawdor now back at his favoured venue. His record over C&D is an excellent one, with his most recent fourth of 12 at this venue coming in a higher class race. Poor efforts since are excusable on account of ground (twice in the mud at Chepstow) and a poor draw.
Megan Carberry is an excellent booking having recently lost her 7 lb claim, but still able to reduce her mount’s burden by 5 lb in this apprentice contest. Main danger could be Addikt if the money arrives (tends to do his winning when gambled on), although Highly Likely wouldn’t be out of the equation after hinting at a revival last time.
6.40 – BetBright.com Maiden Fillies’ Stakes (1m)
It’s hard to see past Emirates Joy here after a hugely promising debut over C&D four weeks ago. She looked the likeliest winner a furlong out, but found a pair of more experienced rivals too strong at the finish, pulling seven lengths clear of the rest in the process.
That form has worked out well enough to suggest it’s solid for the grade, and she will be that bit sharper for the experience, so ought to make it second time lucky. Main danger on paper appears to be Jacqueline Jouliac, but John Gosden’s filly has been absent for fifteen months since her debut over 7f here, and has presumably had an issue or two to keep her off the track.
She’s hard to back as a consequence, but a watching brief may point to her future prospects.
7.10 – BetBright “Live The Moment” Handicap (1m)
Windy Citi is thriving all of a sudden, and although she’s now more than a stone higher in the weights than when scoring the first of a pair of C&D wins last month, her progress shows no sign of abating, and the hat-trick is very much on the cards tonight.
Marengo is another to keep on side, but at this stage it’s far from certain that he will prove as good on the all-weather as he is on turf, with a heavy-ground win at Chepstow last time hardly a positive guide to his chances at this vastly different track, where he was only mid-field on his handicap debut.
Fruit Pastille is considered a bigger threat, as her AW form is better than she’s achieved on turf, and the return to a mile will also suit after she was below form at Brighton last time.
7.40 – BetBright Moneyback Offers Handicap (1m)
Barnmore has plenty to recommend him here, and Peter Hedger’s charge has already gained a pair of course wins this summer. He caught the eye in defeat here last time, with waiting tactics overdone, but he shaped as if still in top form in finishing fifth of 12 over 1¼m, and can be expected to sit a little closer to the pace in this mile contest.
There is a strong possibility of a false pace, though, and that should play into the hands of Exceedexpectations, who is the likeliest leader in the race, and Stevie Donohoe will be hoping to dictate terms before trying to steal a march. At the current odds, he makes more appeal than the likely favourite.
8.10 – BetBright.com Handicap (1½m)
There appears no shortage of pace in this race, and that will make it tough for Anglo Irish, who benefited from a good early position when winning gamely over 1m3f on his latest outing here. He should again go well, but the prospect of competition for the lead is an unknown, and preference is for Mythical Madness, who is one who would definitely benefit from a contested pace given his hold-up style.
He ran his best race when third at Newbury last time, but looked more of a grinder there, and will be better suited by a well-run race at this trip. He’s unproven on polytrack, but very few from his yard have any issues on an artificial surface, and there’s even the possibility that this surface is what he’s needed all along.
With the first race in little under and hour, it promises to be another great night out for all in attendance. Enjoy the racing and for those who can’t make it to the track, why not have a bet on today’s racing on Kempton online or on your mobile?
