RPGTV returns to our screens this evening with competitive greyhounds action on show from both venues, at Sunderland we have six open and six graded races to work out while over at Romford we have the start of the Mitch Millward Essex Vase heats on the show – it should be a cracker.
The first race to highlight is the Essex Vase heat number one at 7.31 over the six bend 575 meter trip at Romford.
TEEJAYS PANTHER is the selection from T2, the Paul Young trained son of Blonde Snapper looks well drawn in trap two and with a decent break he should be able to clear the pace inside and lead round, on the bunny he’s a decent sort over course and distance.
Fivestar Clipper rates as the main danger, Clipper has won five on the bounce and if he traps in best fashion tonight he would be a danger to all. Don’t rule out Slick Society from T6, the Henlow raider has a chance with a ping break.
The second Essex Vase heat at 7.46 can go to the classy JET STREAM SOUND who runs from T1 in the 7.46 at Romford. The Kevin Hutton trained Towcester raider started an odds on favourite for the Champion Stakes final back in September over course and distance but he found trouble on that occasion and was well beaten, with a better break tonight he should go very close.
Blonde Razor (T3) is another that runs this track very well and the Mark Wallis trained greyhound could be one to watch in the market. Swift Whirlwind looks well drawn out in T6 and the wide seed would be a huge runner with a ping break.
A little later on look out for LENSON WALCOTT from T4 in 8.50 heat number six of the Essex Vase at Romford. The lightly raced son of Vans Escalade has been off the track recently but the flying trials over the sprint trip at Wimbledon suggests all is well and if the Jason Foster trained runner breaks well and takes to Romford he could be one to watch in the competition outright.
St Leger finalist Teejayspowerhawk rates as the danger, the consistent son of Westmead Hawk stays on well over this course and distance and he would be a huge runner if avoiding any early trouble.
The final selection on the Romford card tonight is LAUGHING GRAVY who runs from T5 in the Romford Friday Night 500 Standard final at 9.24 over the four bend 400 meter trip.
The David Pruhs trained Peterborough raider caught the eye in defeat last time out when he showed blistering middle pace and stayed on well behind To Tone Max who re-opposes tonight from T3.
The key to victory tonight will be the break and run into the first corner, lead round and Laughing Gravy will prove very hard to beat. Flemish Status (T1) rates as the main danger, in a race full of middle and wide seeds it could get messy approaching the first bend and the son of Razldazl Jayfkay could be in the perfect pitch to nip round if they do come together at trap rise.
Over at Sunderland look out for CALZAGHE TEDDY who runs from T6 in the 10.03 open race over the standard trip of 450 meters. The Pelaw Grange raider looks well drawn as the solo wide seed in the race and with a ping break he should make all tonight.
Run Teddy Run (T3) rates as the main danger, the lightly raced son of Timor Blue won well over course and distance last week and he would be a huge runner here if he repeats the flying 4.91 sectional that he recorded on that occasion.
