Racing Post Greyhound TV returns to our screens this evening with competitive action on show from both Romford and Sunderland. Join the RPGTV panel on Sky channel 468 from 7pm for all the latest greyhound betting news, race previews and market mover information.
The first race to highlight this evening is the sprint open race from Romford over the 225 metre trip at 7.12. Canvas Costa (T1) and Chopchop Mabel (T6) look the main two players in this race and preference is given to CANVAS COSTA who looks very well drawn on the rails. As ever over the sprint trip the break and run into the first corner will prove vital, lead round and Costa will take all the beating. Don’t rule out Profound from T4, the wide seeded greyhound is lightly raced over this trip and is open to plenty of improvement.
BURGESS PAPA looks well drawn at 8.03 when he lines up from T2 for trainer Dave Mullins. The July 14 son of Scolari Me Daddy looks the likely race leader at the rails and if he manages to hit the back straight on the bunny he will prove hard to peg back. Benro Bertie (T6) impressed back on the 23rd June when the youngster recorded a flying 24.13 clock over course and distance, a repeat of that run would make him a huge runner in this maiden open race. Henlow raider Move Over Donie (T4) is blessed with blistering early pace and has a chance on the bunny.
The Romford Friday night final at 9.09 looks at the mercy of CALCO FLYER who runs from T2 for trainer Mark Wallis. The Towcester raider has won five from ten when drawn in the blue jacket, tonight he can make it six from eleven. The key to victory will be avoiding early trouble, if Calco Flyer leads round or turns a handy second it’s race on down the back straight. Courts Ad Peter (T1) impressed last week over course and distance and could be a spot of value on the rails. Young Lord (T4) is capable of a flashy break and would be a danger to all on the bunny.
At 10.01 DOWER FORGOLD looks a huge runner when he lines up from T3 in the standard open race over 400 metres at the London road circuit Romford. The lightly raced son of Zero Ten impressed over course and distance last week when he recorded a flying 3.71 sectional and 23.85 clock, a repeat of that run would surely be good enough to take this race. The key to victory will be the break and run into the first corner, lead round and Dower Forgold should take this race. Rising Rascal (T2) can show decent early pace and could be the one to challenge our selection into the first corner. Pass To Go (T6) is a consistent sort around Romford and is always worth a second look in the market.
The final selection at Romford thsi evening is UNDERGROUND DAVE (T5) in the eight bend marathon race at 10.23. The Paul Young trained middle seeded greyhound will be staying on well in the latter stages and granted a clear run he can power through late on and claim the prize for his connections. Confused Eddie (T2) and Cincinnati (T4) look the likely pace setters and are sure to prove popular in the market.
Over at Sunderland look out for KNOCKAULIN MIST (T6) in the 7.39 handicap race over the 450 metre trip. The scratch runner will be hugging the rails down the back straight and if he avoids trouble at the third corner he can hit the front off the final bend and power clear to victory. Cashen Lizzie (T5) rates as the main danger.
