The Golden Sprint Final live on Racing Post Greyhound TV
Cracking action for greyhound punters this evening with the Golden Sprint Final live from Romford at 9.24, it’s a competitive final with the whole field capable of a ping break, the run to the first bend will be vital – whatever leads round is the likely winner.
A littler earlier on look out for MILLWARDS OZIL (T4) in the 8.02 sprint open race over the 225 meter trip.
The Paul Young trained greyhound will be looking to ping out and make all from what looks a decent draw.
The greyhounds drawn on his inside are a little inconsistent at trap rise and the genuine early pace is on his outside – if Ozil can break well and lead he will be very hard to beat.
Wee Tiger Tots (T6) won well over course and distance last week and rates as the main danger.
The feature race at 9.24 is wide open – it’s all about the break with all the field capable of a ping break on the day.
Potentially the best drawn greyhound is LAUGHING GRAVY in T6.
The wide seed won the Puppy Cup last year and is a consistent sort and with one of his better breaks he will lead outwide, its then all about driving the first bend and leading down the back straight.
It’s a cracking race with the likes of You Never Listen (T1), Lough Messi (T2) and Lenson Tggy (T4) in opposition and all in with a chance of taking the prize on a going day.
In the 10.11 take a chance on THUNDER CRACKER in T1, he ran over the marathon trip last week but found all sorts of early trouble as he looked to get on the rails from his middle draw, now drawn in T1 that shouldn’t be a problem and with a level break he will hold the rails and lead round and a repeat of the 35.88 clock on the 7th March would be good enough to take this race.
Magical Emma (T5) would be a huge runner on the bunny as would solo wide seed Millwards Sioux (T6). Borna Genie (T3) is capable on her day but often finds one too good.
The final race of the evening looks a very winnable opportunity for the course and distance winner BUBBLY TIME (T1).
The Crayford Golden Jacket finalist found all sorts of trouble last week yet still beat half of this field with relative ease – with any sort of a run this evening the result should be the same.
Flawless Floyd (T5) and Stan Mirren Sky (T6) will be looking to lead out wide and get first run on the favourite but both will be looking over their shoulder on the second circuit.
Malls Pride (T3) also a Golden Jacket finalist could give our selection most to do, especially if turning handy this evening.
Over at Sunderland look out for TRAPPER PADDY from T2 in the 9.48 A4 graded race.
The lightly raced railer has been a little frustrating to follow of late but looks well drawn this evening and can ping out and make all.
The key to the race will be clearing T1 into the first corner – if our selection is to win this race it will be from off the front.
Express Twist (T4) is the other early paced type in the race so it’s imperative that we hold that rival early.
Moving onto Saturday – Crayford and Newcastle live on RPGTV
CHARLOTTE MARIE looks well drawn in the 9.15 at Newcastle and can make all in the A4 graded race with a ping break.
The lightly raced railer has been running in higher grade of late and will appreciate this drop in class and the make up of the race looks ideal with plenty of the field looking to stay on rather than lead round.
On the bunny Charlotte Marie will be hard to beat.
Over at Crayford MULS CHOICE should go well in the 10.26 S5 stayers race over the six bend trip.
The youngster has recently won in S7 and S6 grade in decent style and with a similar sectional she would be able to grab the rails and lead round – lead round and it’s race on.
Tinas Junior (T3) is also an early paced type, its important that our selection holds that rival into the first bend.
As ever you can back these selections over on our greyhound betting hub. Best of luck if you’re having a punt on the greyhounds with us this weekend.
