This weekend’s cream of the crop at UK greyhound meetings.
We hope you tuned into last week’s greyhound preview whereby we yet again managed to highlight a couple of decent priced winners with Mike’s Machine and Headford Joe winning at 3/1 and 5/1.
Moving onto this weekend and greyhound punters have plenty to get stuck into – tonight its Romford and Sunderland, Saturday Newcastle and Crayford while on Sunday its the semi-finals of the RPGTV Henlow derby.
The first race to highlight in our Dogs to Watch at Romford tonight is the 8.02 maiden open race over the standard 400 meter trip, BUBBLY TORNADO flew round in a trial last week and is fancied to take the prize from T2 tonight, clearing T1 and holding T3 into the bend will be the key to the race. Fizzypop Hawk rates as a massive danger but hopefully our selection can get first run on that rival.
BISHOPS WOOD looks idealy drawn from T3 in the 8.50 race at Romford, the son of Cashen Legend shows good early speed and is likely to lead this field around the first couple of bends, a repeat of the 24.21 clock last time out should be enough to take this race. Brookside ace will be staying on well and could be the danger off the last bend.
BUBBLY BEAUTY runs from T3 in the 9.24 race and this looks a winnable race with little ‘early’ to beat to the bend, if Beauty can trap and lead round it’s race on. Elanies Boy has showed good four bend pace and is a massive danger on only his second race over the 575 meter trip.
LOUGH MESSI will be very hard to beat in the 10.26 open race from T5, the Maxine Locke trained flying machine love’s Romford and is rarely beaten around here, clearing the pacey Putdownyourfoot to the bend will be the key. Headford Joe won well last week but takes a massive step up in class and might struggle to clear the early pace inside.
Over at Sunderland it’s an all graded card starting at 7.25, best bet of the night is FADED MEMORIES from T3 in the 8.42 A5 race, the selection should lead round the first bend and go clear down the back straight, staying power is not her strong suit – so she will need a lead off the last bend.
Moving onto Saturday’s Racing – it’s Newcastle and Crayford live on RPGTV
All graded meeting at Newcastle after the All England Cup earlier this week, while over at Crayford there is just the one open race – it’s the 8.34 over the 540 meter trip – DROOPYS PRIYA is a very interesting runner stepped up in trip for the first time, the daughter of staying superstar Aero Majestic is fancied to grab the lead early and kick on for victory, Look out for support in the market.
At Newcastle another youngster to look out for is MTOTO in the 9.48 A3 graded race from T2, with little early pace in the race it looks an ideal opportunity for the selection to grab the rails and make all.
The RPGTV Henlow Derby semi-final heats start at 8.15 on Sunday and each semi is very competitive with two from each semi going into next week’s final.
SIDAZ JACK can take the first semi from T2, the former Greyhound Derby winner has looked back on form recently and can smash out and grab the rails around the first bend, once in front he’s not for catching.
In the second heat Leamaneigh Turbo will be a very short priced favourite and he is the likely winner, but T3 Affane Scolari could be a spot of value from the middle box, the early paced type could cause and upset if leading the favourite.
The final semi-final can be won in trap to line fashion be the pacey SOUTHERN MESUT, Charlie Lister’s greyhound was having his first run in nearly a month last time out and was only beaten a short head, if stripping fitter he should take this on route to the final.
All the best if you’re having a bet on the dogs this weekend. As ever, you can back these dogs over on our daily greyhound betting hub right now.
