All eyes will be on Perry Barr this afternoon as the 2015 Bags Track Championship finals take centre stage live on Sky Sports, the action gets at 2pm with the first live race at 2.08.
Last year’s winners Peterborough failed to make it into the finals this time around but with Belle Vue, Monmore, Hall Green, Newcastle, Romford and Towcester all represented it should be a cracker.
The first race to highlight is the 2.27 which can go to the Hall Green raider PARADISE CUBA who lines up from T6 as the solo wide seed in the race.
Our selection is blessed with early pace and if he manages to clear his rivals into the first corner and leads round he can land this race and collect maximum points for his home track Hall Green.
Flemish Idea (T3) from Towcester rates as the main danger, a few months back he went well during the East Anglian derby and is clearly a class act on a going day.
The stayers race at 3.07 can go to SHELLAM DELANO who runs from T5 for Newcastle trainer Jimmy Wright.
The lightly raced son of Westmead Hawk has been in flying form of late and went well in a trial over course and distance last Friday, with a clear run he would take all the beating.
The key to the race will be avoiding Janoan (T4) into the first corner, clear that rival or follow her round and it’s race on down the back straight. Ferryforth Fran (T6) is a class act and the Towcester based greyhound would be a danger to all with a clear run.
In a race full of railers the 3.28 could get messy approaching the first corner, if it does CANINE CRUSHER in T1 could be in the perfect pitch to nip round and make all and claim the points for Romford.
The Ernie Gaskin trained runner went well in a trial last week and with a level break he would be a huge runner at a decent price. Sandyhill Hitman from T6 rates as the main danger, the Newcastle based greyhound shows decent all round pace in his races and would be a danger to all if within striking distance at the third bend.
The 4.27 can go to the classy GREENHILL BEAUTY who runs from T2 for Newcastle trainer Jimmy Wright. The early paced railer will have to clear Fahrenheit Katie (T1) into the first corner but if she manages to do so it’s race on.
Delightful Girl (T5) and Ribble Aon (T6) look lively runners and they are both more than capable of taking a race like this on the bunny.
The final selection this afternoon is REEL STYLE who lines up from T2 for Towcester trainer Kevin Hutton in the stayers race at 5.07.
The early paced railer looks the likely leader and once on the bunny he will take all the beating, a repeat of the recent trial over course and distance would see him take this race and record maximum points for Towcester.
Racecourse Suesu (T6) looks likely to lead outwide and the Belle Vue representative could be the one to challenge Reel Style one the first circuit. Look out for Beatties Wild (T5) who will be staying on well in the closing stages.
Good luck to all the tracks competing in the 2015 BAGS track championship.
