Friday 4th September – Romford and Sunderland live on Racing Post Greyhound TV
What a cracking night’s racing we have in prospect this evening with the Champion Stakes semi finals live on RPGTV plus the supporting open races including the Champion Night Bitches Heats and the Champion Night Standard Open Heats.
The action gets underway at 7.15pm live on Sky channel 212 and Freesat 401.
The first race to highlight this evening is the first Champion Stakes semi final at 8.34, JET STREAM SOUND (T2) was very impressive over course and distance in the heats last week and if the Kevin Hutton trained Towcester raider breaks in similar fashion he will take all the beating this evening.
It is however a very competitive race with the likes of Domino Storm (T3), Patchys Kerry (T4) and Droopys Jarrow (T6) all more than capable of winning this race on a going day.
The second Champion Stakes semi final at 8.50 can go to the Mark Wallis trained BLONDE RAZOR from T2, the son of Kinloch Brae showed massive middle gears last week and looks ideally drawn this evening to ping out and make all.
Kennel mate Adageo Bob (T5) rates as the main danger, the course and distance specialist also won well last week and if the wide runner turns in a handy pitch he would be a danger to all. Chicago (T1) and Jimmy Nailed On (T6) both have chances if breaking in best fashion.
The third and final semi final at 9.06 can go to the early paced JET STREAM JACK who runs from T5 for trainer Kevin Hutton, the recent Sussex Cup finalist showed nice early paced last week to lead round and he managed to fend off the late challenge of Teejayspowerhawk who re-opposes this evening from T2, if Jack repeats the flying 13.50 sectional he recorded last week he can take this race and book his place in next weeks final which is live on Sky Sports.
Jaytee Berlin looks well drawn in T1 and rates as the main danger, the son of Scolari Me Daddy stays this trip well and would be a danger to all if turning in a handy position.
A little later on look out for JOLLY RANGER from T1 in the Champion night Standard open at 9.56 over the four bend 400 meter trip, the early paced railer won well on Romford début last week and a repeat of the 3.80 sectional would make the Towcester based greyhound hard to beat this evening.
Slick Seacrest from T6 rates as the main danger, the Keith Allsop trained greyhound looks well drawn as the solo wide seed and the former classy sprinter should be suited by this course and distance, he’s one to watch in the market.
The final selection on the Romford card is FLAGFIELD BAND (T2) in the 10.40 open race over the 575 meter trip, our selection looks the likely leader at the rails and he should appreciate this drop in distance having previously been tried over the eight bend trip at Crayford, lead round and it’s race on.
Soviet Kenny (T6) rates as the danger, the 2015 Coronation Cup winner could lead out wide and would be a huge runner if turning close to the pace.
Over at Sunderland one that appeals is OLYMPIC MONEY from T1 in the A1 graded race at 10.18, the strong staying railer looks very well drawn to track the pace down the back straight and if avoiding a bump our selection can hit the front off the last bend and kick for home.
Istheinkdry (T2) looks the likely leader in the race and rates as the danger.
