Sunderland and Romford live on Racing Post Greyhound TV
RPGTV returns to our screens this evening with competitive open and graded action from both tracks, the racing is live on Sky channel 212 from 7.15pm tonight.
The first race to highlight is the sprint open race at 8.02 over the 225 meter trip at the London Road circuit Romford.
BLUE BEES BOLT is the selection for the race from T6, the Jim Reynolds trained runner is drawn a little wider than ideal here but if he breaks in best fashion he will take the world of beating, our selection stays on very well over this trip and would be a huge runner if avoiding a bump at the first bend.
Opus Star (T1) beat Blue Bees Bolt over course and distance last Friday and the Dave Mullins trained railer rates as the danger tonight, if Opus Star manages to hold the rails into the first corner he will go close. All About the Pennys (T3) went well in a trial the other day and is one to watch in the market.
TULLIG STORM won well at Hove last time out and if the Sittingboune raider handles the Romford circuit he could be the one to beat from T1 in the 8.50 maiden stayers open over the 575 meter trip.
The key to this race will be the break and run into the first corner, if Tullig Storm can hold the local runner Classy Look (T2) into the first bend and leads off the second bend he will go close over a trip that should suit. Sportsmans Jojo (T6) has been showing plenty of early pace in her races and she could be the one to challenge our selection down the back straight.
Look out for Britania Belucky (T3) who is sure to be staying on well in the closing stages.
A little later on look out for TRIONAS TRUST who runs from T2 in the Romford Friday night 500 Maidens Final at 9.24. The Jim Reynolds trianed son of Droopys Scolari was very impressive over course and distance last week and he looks ideally drawn tonight to follow up that sucsess.
The key to the race will be the break, Trionas Trust will have to hold kennelmate Borna Bug (T3) into the first corner – do that and it’s race on. Millwards Steve (T5) recorded a flying 24.01 clock last time out and the Paul Young trained runner would be a danger to all with a level break.
The final bet on the Romford card is FIVESTAR CLIPPER who runs from T6 in the 10.40 open race over the 575 meter six bend trip. The Derek Knight trained runner is a course and distance specialist and if he breaks well and records a 13.73 sectional like last Friday he will be the one to take them along in the early stages and he will prove very hard to beat.
Jaytee Berlin finished second to our selection last time out and the early paced railer will need to lead to turn around that form line.
Knockbawn Caviar (T3) has been showing decent early pace in his races of late and the Yarmouth raider is an interesting runner in this field. Millwards Master (T1) is a class act and if the 2014 Champion Stakes winner was to return to anything like his best he would be a danger to all.
Over at Sunderland look out for CALZAGHE DAVY who runs from T4 in the 8.58 open race over the standard four bend trip of 450 meters.
The Ted Soppitt trained son of Crash has returned to the track recently following a lengthy layoff in flying form and with anything like a level break he should have too much pace for these.
Local runner Tullig Hailstone (T2) rates as the main danger, the early paced railer has won three A1’s on the bounce and is clearly in flying form at the moment.
TULLIG LIGHTNING is a very interesting runner in the stayers race at 9.32 over the six bend 640 meter trip. Our selection looks very well drawn in T1 and if the consistent A1 performer handles the step up in trip he could prove hard to beat on six bend debut.
Hard To Bare (T5) has been keeping very good company of late and the wide runner rates as a huge danger as does Tilery Rumble from T6.
