Romford and Sunderland live on Racing Post Greyhound TV
Greyhound punters have plenty to get stuck into this evening with Romford and Sunderland live on RPGTV from 7.15pm on Sky channel 212.
The first race to highlight is the Romford Friday Night 500 Maidens Final at 9.06 over the standard four bend trip of 400 meters.
DROOPYS BRINDLE (T1) showed decent early pace last week in the heats and if the Paul Young trained daughter of Central City repeats that flying 3.79 sectional and leads at the rails she will be hard to beat.
The key to the race for supporters will be the break and run into the first bend, it’s imperative that our selection holds Shaneboy Freddie (T2) at trap rise and kicks for home down the back straight – lead round and it’s race on. Narabane Flyer (T5) beat Droopys Brindle in the heats last week and is sure to be staying on well again this evening.
The 500 Dual Distance Final at 9.24 can go to STAR MIRREN SKY from T6, the wide seed has previously gone very well over course and distance and if she turns handy this evening she will go very close.
Black Francis (T2) is sure to prove popular in the market and looks the likely leader on the inside, the Mark Wallis trained Towcester raider won well in the heats last week and is sure to appreciate this step up to eight bends.
Swift Betsey (T5) looks the likely leader on the outside of the track but the Henlow runner might struggle to stay this trip judged on her six bend run last week. Don’t rule out Airforce Rebel (T4), the son of Mildean Panther showed decent middle gears to win last week and is another that should appreciate this trip.
A little later on look out for MAGICAL GARTH from T6 in the 9.40 over the six bend trip of 575 meters. The Yarmouth raider looks ideally draw in the stripped jacket this evening and with one of his better breaks he will take the world of beating, the key to the race is the break and run into the first corner – lead round and Garth should beat this field.
Millmount Blaze (T5) has been showing decent middle pace in his S1 graded races recent and has a chance if hitting the front early on. Too Swift (T1) is another that could go well especially if leading at the rails.
The final selection on the Romford card is SOSAIDHA BLUE (T3) in the Maiden Marathon at 10.26, the Mark Wallis trained daughter of Kinloch Brae has recently won well over six bends at Towcester and then led for eight bends when attempting to make all over the stamina zapping eight bend trip of 906 meters at Towcester, now dropped to 750 meters the former Irish open race winner can ping out and make all on Romford debut.
Mays Rainbow (T1) has decent six bend form at Romford and has always looked the type to do well once stepped up to eight bends, she is one to watch in the market. Jaytee Dave (T2) was well beaten when last attempting this trip but the Paul Young trained youngster has a chance with a ping break this evening.
Over at Sunderland look out for GLENBURN JIMMY in the A8 graded race at 8.58 over the standard 450 meter four bend trip, the early paced youngster looks likely to be clear of this field at halfway and if the son of Jimmy Bow Tie improves slightly on recent clocks he will take all the beating. Utopia Jubilee (T1) is likely to turn second and rates as the danger.
Although getting on in years MILL GENOVESE (T3) still retains plenty of pace and if the Dec10 son of Ballymac Maeve traps in best fashion the middle seed can hit the front around the first couple of bends and take the A3 graded race at 9.32.
The key the race will be the break, if our selection leads he will be very hard to beat. Mill Batista (T6) is an improving youngster who has been staying on well in his races and the Kelly Macari trained wide runner rates as the danger.
