Friday – Sunderland and Romford live on Racing Post Greyhound TV
It’s Friday, which can mean only one thing for greyhound punters – Romford and Sunderland live on RPGTV. Romford stages an excellent card this evening with the heats of the Champion Stakes over the six bend 575 meter trip taking centre stage and with the likes of Adageo Bob, Domino Storm, Jet Stream Jack and Swift Whirlwind all due to run it promises to be a cracker.
The first race to highlight is the 7.31 from Romford, the first heat of the Champion Stakes competition can go to the Towcester raider in T5 – JET STEAM JACKAdd to betslip. The early paced middle seed ran a satisfactory race over course and distance last week and if he comes on for that look round he will take all the beating this evening.
The key to the race will be the break, lead round and it’s race on. Teejayspowerhawk (T3) has plenty of course and distance form and the Paul Young trained greyhound rates as the main danger. El Salvador (T1) is more than capable of taking a race like this and the railer would be a danger to all on the bunny.
The third heat at 8.02 can go to course and distance superstar Add to betslipADAGEO BOB from T6, the Mark Wallis trained wide seed was soundly beaten last week in his prep race but if back on form the son of Hondo Black can take this race and prove to be one of the main runners in the competition outright.
Jimmy Nailed On (T5) will be staying on well and looks likely to qualify for the next round if avoiding an early bump. Teejays Panther (T2) looks well drawn and early paced son of Blonde Snapper rates as a danger to our selection.
The fourth heat at 8.18 can go to the wide seed PHARISEE FLYERAdd to betslip in T6, the local runner has been in good form of late and in a race lacking any genuine early paced types he could find himself in front by the third bend, Pharisee Flyer stays the 575 meter trip well and would be very hard to beat on the bunny.
Soviet Kenny (T5) won the Coronation Cup over course and distance earlier in the year and has a chance with one of his better breaks. Jaytee Osprey (T3) and Patchys Kerry (T2) are both capable sorts and if either lead round at the rails they would be huge runners in a wide open race.
DROOPYS JARROWAdd to betslip made a huge impression over course and distance last week and the wide seed looks very well drawn in the 8.50 at Romford to follow up and make it two from two at the London Road circuit. The key to the race will be the break, if Droopys Jarrow leads round it would take a good one to back run him.
Blonde Razor (T1) and Teejays Porsche (T3) are both early paced types and if either ping and grab the rails they could be the one to give our selection most to do.
A little later on look out for PASS TO GOAdd to betslip from T6 in the 10.11 open race over the standard 400 meter trip, the early paced wide seed has caught the eye over course and distance recently and if the youngster breaks in best fashion he can make all here and record his first open race victory.
Jolly Vegas (T1) rates as the main danger, the Kevin Hutton trained greyhound has been flying round Towcester of late and should appreciate this slight drop in distance, the slight concern would be a lack of a trial over course and distance.
Over at Sunderland look out for MY QUEENAdd to betslip from T3 in the A1 graded race at 8.26, the recent open race winner at Pelaw Grange looks well drawn to lead at the rails and once in front she is a decent sort in this type of class.
Eden Brae (T4) rates as the main danger, the middle seed has won three of his last five in this grade and would be a huge runner if turning within striking distance of our selection.
Good luck if you’re having a bet on the greyhounds with us this weekend, as ever you can back all these selections over in our daily greyhound betting hub.
