Sunderland and Romford live on Racing Post Greyhound TV
What a night of racing we have in prospect this evening, the RPGTV camera’s will be at Romford for a decent all open race card and at Belle Vue for the start of the Ecc Timber Laurels and the second round of the Ecc Timber Oaks, it should be a cracker!
The first race to highlight is the third heat of the Ecc Timber Laurels from Belle Vue at 8.10. MYWAY MARS is the selection for the race from T1, the Pelaw Grange based greyhound has gone well in a recent trial over course and distance and with one of his better breaks he should hold the rails and kick for home down the back straight.
Roxholme Scolari (T5) rates as the danger, the lightly raced Hayley Keightley trained runner would be a danger to all with a ping break. Don’t rule out the Scottish raider from T3 Fifo, on a going day he is more than capable of taking a race like this.
TYRUR SUPERMAC (T2) recorded a flying trial over course and distance last week and if the Charlie Lister trained son of Tyrur Suger Ray clocks a similar sectional and overall time he should take this race.
The key to the race will be the break and run into the first corner, lead round and he will be very hard to beat. Swift Keith (T4) is a class act and on his day the John Mullins trained yarmouth raider is amongst the best four bend performers in the country, with a level break he would be a danger to all here.
A little later on look out for FOREST TWILIGHT who runs from T4 in the Ecc Timber Oaks heat at 9.32 over the standard four bend trip of 470 meters at Belle Vue. The lightly raced daughter of Ace Hi Rumble won in impressive fashion last week following a layoff and with that run under her belt she should strip even fitter and prove very hard to beat with a decent break. Alma Chic (T1) ran well in the heats last week and the Nottingham raider could be the one to chase home out selection and take her place in the next round of the competition.
The final selection at Belle Vue is EVANTA EVITA (T3) in the 9.48 heat number three of the oaks. The Mark Wallis trained runner clocked a 4.31 sectional and 27.56 clock over course and distance last week and a repeat of that should be good enough to take this race.
Kennel Mate Domino Storm (T4) chased home our selection last week and she might have to play second fiddle again tonight. Aero Babooshka (T1) and Battyford Tracy (T5) are capable of taking a race like this with a smash break and they are worth noting in the market.
Over at Romford look out for DROOPYS ASTORISH who runs from T2 in the maiden open race at 9.40 over the 400 meter trip. The Paul Young trained youngster has finished second on his three runs to date but can finally break his maiden tonight if he traps in best fashion, the key to this race is clearing Courts Ad Ginger (T1) at the boxes, do that and it’s race on down the back straight.
Swabys Norah (T5) who recently won in A1 graded company rates as the main danger, if that rival led round she could be hard to catch. Don’t rule out solo wide seed Chopchop Josh from T6, the Gaskin runner is capable of a 3.69 sectional and a repeat of that could be good enough to lead round.
The final selection of the night is TRIONAS TRUST (T1) in the Romford Friday Night 500 Standard heat number one at 9.56. The former Sunderland based greyhound has missed the break on his last two runs but with a level break he would have a chance of holding the rails tonight and leading round, on the bunny he’s a decent sort over course and distance.
Canvas Costa (T2) rates as the main danger, although well beaten on his last few runs the son of Shaneboy Lee is a classy Romford type on the bunny and would be a runner here if leading round.
