Friday – Romford and Sunderland live on Racing Post Greyhound TV
RPGTV returns to our screens this evening with competitive racing from both Romford and Sunderland, the action gets underway at 7.15pm on Sky channel 212 with the first live race at 7.31pm.
The first race to highlight this evening is the 8.10 open race from Sunderland over the standard four bend trip of 450 meters.
The selection for the race is CALZAGHE GEORGE who looks well drawn on the rails in T1, if the Ted Soppitt trained son of Cashen Legend manages to hold his pitch on the rails into the first corner he will take all the beating.
The slight concern is George will be making his return from lameness, but a recent trial over course and distance suggests all is well and if near 100% fit George should be able to take this race. Elpaso City (T2), Aero Riviera (T4) and Jumeirah Lord (T6) are all capable sorts over course and distance and they could be the one’s to take advantage if George misses the break from his inside draw.
HOLDEM RESERVE looks well drawn in the 8.58 stayers race and if the railer breaks level he will take all the beating from T1.
The daughter of Tyrur Lee is proven over the 640 meter trip and with question marks about most of the field over six bends it could pay to go with the proven form, the key to the race for supporters will be the break and run into the first corner, lead round and it’s race on.
Cormac The Flyer (T5) rates as the main danger, the middle seed is an interesting runner and could be the one to take them along in the early stages.
Over at Romford look out for FARLOE MENACE who runs from T6 in the 8.18 maiden stayers open over the six bend 575 meter trip. The Jim Reynolds trained wide seed won well last time out over 550 meters at Henlow and the wide seed looks well drawn this evening to follow up and make it two on the trot.
The key to the race for supports will be the break, if Farloe Menace breaks in best fashion he should make all. Rabbini (T4) is an intersting runner and is one to note in the market, the former Irish runner won well on English debut at Yarmouth last week and could be anything over this sort of trip.
The Romford Friday Night 500 Standard Final at 8.50 is a cracker, with many of the field looking for the early lead the break and run into the firest bend will be vital.
The selection is YOU NEVER LISTEN from T2, the Jim Reynolds trained daughter of Makeshift has won her last two in very impressive fashion and a repeat of the flying 3.72 or 3.79 sectionals that she has recorded recently would make her very hard to beat.
Jolly Ranger (T1) has a nice draw to work from and if the Poole raider breaks well she could be the one to serve it up to our selection into the first corner. Laughing Gravy (T5) is a class act over this course and distance and he is likely to prove popular with the local punters.
The Romford Friday Night 500 Stayers Final at 9.06 can go to the well drawn TEEJAYSPOWERHAWK who runs from T1 for Paul Young. The son of Westmead Hawk was very unlucky in the heats last week when finding early trouble before staying on well to go down just half a length behind Pharisee Flyer who re-opposes this evening from T5.
The key to the race for Teejaypowerhawk supporters will be the break, from his inside draw he will need to break level and turn off the second bend in a challenging position, avoid early trouble and it’s race on.
Fivestar Clipper (T6) rates as a huge danger, the wide seed hinted at a return to form last time out and the Hove raider would be a danger to all on the bunny this evening.
The final selection on the excellent Romford card is ROXHOLME SCOLARI from T1 in the Puppy Cup Final at 9.24 over the standard 400 meter trip.
The Hayley Keightyley trained runner is blessed with blistering early pace and if he traps well this evening he can hold the rails and lead off the second bend and kick for home down the back straight.
My Little Dream (T6) beat our selection last time out and the Belle Vue raider rates as the main danger this evening, the wide seed has a chance with a ping break.
