Romford and Sunderland live on Racing Post Greyhound TV
As ever on a Friday evening all eyes will be on Romford and Sunderland as the two tracks stage very competitive cards for greyhound punters to try and work out – the racing is live on Sky channel 212 from 7.15pm this evening.
The first race to highlight is the Romford Friday night 500 standard final over the 400 meter trip at 9.06. IBIZA ROCKS is the selection from T4, the Kevin Hutton trained Towcester raider was very impressive over course and distance last week in the heats of this competition and he has a cracking chance of taking this race with one of his better breaks.
It is however a very competitive event with the likes of Clondoty Alex (T1), Pinpoint Lad (T2), and Bolshoi Booze (T6) more than capable of taking a race like this with a ping break. The key to the race will be the break and run into the first corner, whichever greyhound leaders round will take the all the beating.
At 9.24 the stayers final over the six bend 575 meter trip takes centre stage and its DROOPYS TRAMORE that appeals from T2. The Sittingbourne based greyhound stays on well over this trip and would be a danger to all if turning in a handy pitch, with plenty of early pace in the race it could get messy up front and hand the advantage to one of the closers late on.
Ballymac Loch (T5) beat our selection last time out and has a chance if clearing the pace inside and leading round. Paradise Monaka (T1) looks well drawn on the rails and is another that could go well if avoiding an early bump.
A little later on look out for SWIFT WHIRLWIND from T6 in the 9.56 maiden stayers race over the 575 meter trip, on six bend debut the Mark Wallis trained son of Kinloch Brae is one to watch in the market.
Swift Whirlwind has been keeping very good four bend company of late and is sure to appreciate this step up in trip, the key to victory will be the break and run into the first bend, our selection will need to clear the pace inside and lead round to take this race.
The 10.26 open over the standard 400 meter trip can go to the Mark Wallis trained EVANTA FANTASY (T3). The early paced railer often moves off when drawn on the rails but looks ideally drawn this evening to ping out and lead round – once on the bunny Evanta Fantasy is a class act over course and distance.
See No Gamble looks well drawn in T6 and rates as the danger especially if leading out wide. Sneezy Rose (T1) has a chance on the rails if breaking in best fashion.
The final selection on the Romford card is BLONDE RAZOR from T1 at 10.40, the Towcester raider found plenty of trouble in the Sussex Cup heats last time out at Hove when drawn in trap three and is sure to appreciate this return to Romford and a draw on the rails, with a ping break Blonde Razor can lead round and put this race to bed down the back straight.
Teejays Porsche (T2) rates as the main danger, the Paul Young trained son of Blonde Snapper was a beaten in the heats of the Grand Prix at Sunderland last week over the 640 meter trip which stretched the stamina of the railer but a return to 575 meter is sure to suit and he would be a huge runner on the bunny.
Over at Sunderland look out for EL CLASICO from T2 in the A2 graded race at 10.03, the youngster started a very short 4/5 shot on English debut last week but was never in the race after a slow break, if breaking a little better this evening the Yvonne Bell trained greyhound can grab the rails and lead round and take this race. Zorro Azul (T3) is a consistent early paced sort and rates as the danger to our selection.
Best of luck if you’re having a bet on the greyhound with us this weekend, as ever you can back all these selections over in our daily greyhound betting hub.
