Greyhound Racing from Romford and Sunderland live on RPGTV
Greyhound punters have a decent Romford card to get stuck into this evening live on RPGTV – the show starts at 7.15pm with the first live race from Romford at 7.31. Sunderland gets underway at 7.25.
The first race to highlight this evening is the Tony Williams Dual Distance Final at 9.24. All the finalists qualified over the six bend 575 meter trip and tonight face the bend 750 meter distance in their attempt to land the £1000 prize money. Bubbly Time looks a major player and would of been the selection if drawn a little closer to the rails but out in T5 the railer could find early trouble. REARGUARD BOND looks very well drawn in T1 and the Henlow raider can turn handy and assert on the second circuit. Capable of making all or winning from off the pace the versatile performer will be hard to beat with a clear run around the first couple of bends. Black Francis (T3) would be a danger to all on the bunny, while the local hope Genie (T4) has won three of her last four races following her seasonal rest and is sure to go well over a course and distance that suits.
A little later on look out for the well drawn BORNA KARMA from T6 in the 9.40 Daggers Champion Stakes open race. The solo wide side has recently returned to the track and has run with credit on both occasions. Tonight with a plot draw in T6 the Jim Reynolds trained daughter of Flying Stanley can trap out and make all. It is however a very competitive race with the likes of Evanta Fantasy (T1) and Millwards Katy (T3) in the lineup. As ever over the 400 meter trip at Romford the break will be vital – it looks a leader wins type of race.
Take a chance on BORNA GENIE (T2) in the 10.11 Romford Dogs Maiden Marathon, the local six bend performer will be trying the eight bend distance for the first time but her running style suggests it will suit and with a clear run she should go well. Peaceful Dawn (T3) has shown decent pace over six bends recently and could be the one to take them along in the early stages. Swift Seve is an interesting runner from T5, the Yarmouth raider has raced against all the top six bend performers over the last couple of months and is now tried at a marathon trip for the first time.
Adageo Bob is a class act over course and distance but drawn in T3 tonight will the Mark Wallis trained greyhound ping out and lead round?. It could be worth taking a chance on the well drawn EL SALVADOR in the final race on the Romford card the 10.40. The Gerry Ballentine Hall Green raider has previously gone very well over course and distance including behind Adageo Bob last time out – with a better draw this evening and doubts about ‘Bob’ in trap 3 El Salvador could be worth a small bet. There is however plenty of pace in the race with Flawless Floyd (T4), Soviet Kenny (T5) and Adoremus (T6) all capable of making all on a going day.
Over at Sunderland look out for the very well drawn BALLYMAC GERALD in the 10.18 A2 graded race from T6. The solo wide seed should be able to lead up this field and make all tonight. The key to the race will be clearing T5 at trap rise – do that and it’s race on. Quanns Gull is a capable sort in this type of grade and would a be danger if leading on the rails.
Moving on to Saturday and it’s Shawfield live on RPGTV – The Scottish Greyhound Derby Final
Greyhound punters are in for a treat on Saturday with the Scottish Greyhound Derby Final live on RPGTV at 9.15. Swift Hoffman looks very well drawn as the solo wide seed in the race and will take all the beating especially if he traps well but it could be worth taking a chance on the Irish raider SAVE THE DON from T4 at the prices. The Fraser Black trained greyhound went well in the heats from T4 and managed to qualify for the final after a slow break in the semi’s, he appears better drawn in the final and would be a huge runner with a smash break. The whole race depends on the break, with the likes of Coolavanny Jap (T1), La Cuchilla (T2), Lenson Sanchez (T3) and Cashen Maureen (T5) in the line up it promises to be a cracker – good luck to all connections and trainers.
At little earlier on the well drawn GREENWELL LARK could be hard to beat in the 8.26 open race from T6. The consistent wide runner should be able to turn very handy in this field and hit the front down the back straight. La Maqina (T2) is the main danger as that rival looks the likely leader at the rails.
