Romford and Sunderland live on Racing Post Greyhound TV
It’s Friday, which can mean only one thing for greyhound punters – Romford and Sunderland live on RPGTV, join the panel on Sky channel 212 from 7.15pm this evening.
The first race to highlight is the sprint open race at 8.02 over the 225 meter trip. KILLOUGHTEEN PAT is the selection for the race from T2, the Maxine Locke trained son of Droopys Scolari is a consistent sort over course and distance and if he breaks in best fashion he will take the beating tonight.
It is however a very competitive race with the likes of Blue Bees Bolt (T3), Mash Mad Rumble (T4) and Tonerich (T6) all more than capable of taking a race like this on a going day. As ever over a sprint trip the break and run into the first corner will be vital, smash out of the traps and it’s race on.
TRIONAS TRUST (T2) looks well drawn in the 8.50 and if the Jim Reynolds trained runner breaks well he can take this Maiden open over the 400 meter trip at Romford. Trionas Trust has gone very well in trials over course and distance and with only one competitive race under his belt at the track he is open to plenty of improvement.
Zappy Ina (T5) rates as the danger, the middle seed has won well in graded company recently and would be a danger to all with a ping break. Don’t rule out Bev’s Bandit from T6, the solo wide seed has some flashy sectional’s at Sittingbourne and could be one to note in the market.
A little later on look out for SNEEZYS LILY from T1 in the Romford Friday Night 500 Bitches Final at 9.24 over the standard four bend trip of 400 meters. The Phil Simmonds trained runner looks ideally drawn on the rails and if she manages to hold Brisk Bella (T3) into the first bend she will be very hard to beat.
Swabys Valerie (T5) shows decent early pace in her races and she could be the one to catch down the back straight, if Lily can turn within a couple of lengths its race on. Millwards Katy (T4) has been a little inconsistent at the traps recently but if she returned to her best she would have a chance of landing the prize for her connections.
The final selection on the Romford card is JAYTEE BERLIN who runs from T2 in the 575 meter open race at 10.11. Our selection often breaks well from T2 and if he manages to hit the front around the first couple of bends he should power clear down the back straight, the key will be clearing T1 into the first corner – do that and it’s race on.
There’s plenty of early pace in this race, Ballymac Loch (T3), Fiverstar Clipper (T4), Farloe Menace (T5) and Adoremus (T6) are all capable of a ping break and if any manage to get on the bunny they would be a huge danger to Jaytee Berlin.
Over at Sunderland look out for TULLIG LIGHTNING from T1 in the A1 graded race at 9.32 over the four bend trip of 450 meters. The son of Kinloch Brae won well from off the pace over course and distance last Friday and looks ideally drawn again tonight to follow up that success.
Tullig Lightning is strong over the trip, the key is avoiding an early bump – turn off the second bend in a handy pitch and our selection should take this race. Blue Rosie (T5) and Ballymac Gerald (T6) both show decent early pace and they could be the ones to catch down the back straight, Gerald has a habit of swinging off at the bends but is clearly a pacey sort and he would be a runner on the bunny.
The final selection of the night is STALLONE KESHA from T1 in the A3 graded race at 10.35. Kesha will be making her Sunderland debut tonight but based on her trials and Kinsley form she could be starting off in a winnable grade and race, if she holds her pitch into the first corner she should go close.
Youngster Crinkhill Sally (T3) rates as a huge danger, the May14 daughter of Godsend has gone well in trials and is open to huge improvement, on the bunny she would be an interesting runner. Corley Eye Eye (T4) stays on well and will be one to watch off the final bend if she’s within striking distance.
