Friday – Romford and Sunderland live on Racing Post Greyhound TV
RPGTV returns to our screens this evening with competitive graded action from Sunderland plus an excellent card from Romford featuring the Puppy Cup semi finals and the Friday night 500 standard and Stayers heats.
The first race to highlight this evening is the 8.18 open race over the six bend trip of 575 meters. TEEJAYSPOWERHAWK looks ideally drawn on the rails in T1 and if the Paul Young trained runner can hold his pitch into the first corner and lead round he will take all the beating.
It is however a very competitive race with Pharisee Flyer (T3), Fivestar Legacy (T4) and the Mark Wallis trained Jimmy Nailed On (T5) all more than capable of taking this race with one of their better breaks, as ever the break and run into the first corner will be vital.
The first Puppy Cup semi final at 8.50 can go to the Hayley Keightley trained ROXHOLME SCOLARI who runs from T2. The son of Droopys Scolari recorded a flying 3.75 split and 23.95 clock over course and distance on Monday evening and a repeat of that should be good enough to take this race.
Westmead Loraine (T1) can show early pace in her races and the Henlow raider rates as the danger, break well from her inside draw and she could make them all go. My little Dream (T6) looks well drawn out wide and has a chance with a ping break.
A little later on look out for JOLLY RANGER who runs from T2 in the 9.56 open race over the standard four bend trip of 400 meters. The former Kevin Hutton trained greyhound has recorded three straight victories over course and distance and he looks ideally drawn this evening to ping out and make all again.
Kildare Fantasy (T1) is a capable sort and rates as the danger, if the railer breaks well that could hamper the chances of our selection. What A Laugh (T6) has pinged from this trap in the past and has a chance if the inside pair come together.
The final selection on the Romford card is YOU NEVER LISTEN who runs from T3 in the 10.11 open race. The Jim Reynolds trained daughter of Makeshift was ultra impressive last time out when trapping in a flying 3.72 split and recording a time of 23.83, repeat that and You Never Listen will take this race.
Pinpoint Lad (T1) has been running with credit of late and has a chance if holding his pitch into the first corner. Bothar Na Naomh (T5) won well last time out but this is a huge step up in class and she will need to produce a career best to feature here.
Over at Sundeland look out for TILERY RUMBLE from T6 in the 10.18 A1 graded race over the 450 meter four bend trip.
The solo wide seed looks ideally drawn to turn handy and hit the front down the back straight, avoid an early bump and it’s race on. Youngster Havana Madhatter (T5) is moving through the grades nicely and looks the danger, if the daughter of Droopys Cain leads round she would be a huge runner.
Tullig Hailstone (T3) is a consistent sort over course and distance and if the railer breaks in best fashion he could go close.
TRONAS TRUST can take the final race on the Sunderland card from T2. The Kelly Macari trained former Irish runner will be making his English debut this evening but based on the course and distance trials he could ping out and make all and quickly leave graded racing behind, on the bunny he could be hard to beat. Darby O Gill (T4) is a very consistent sort in A1 grade and rates as the main danger.
