Romford and Sunderland live on Racing Post Greyhound TV
The racing managers at Romford and Sunderland have not made things easy tonight, both cards look ultra competitive but with the form studied and the racing videos watched here are a few that should go close tonight.
HOVEX PRINCE (T1) is a very interesting runner in the 8.18 maiden stayers open race over the 575 meter trip at the London road venue Romford.
The Gerry Ballentine trained Hall Green raider caught the eye recently around Hove when staying on well over the 515 meter four bend trip, this step up in trip should suit and with a level break and clear run he could be the one to beat tonight. Chaotic Lynda (T2) has been keeping very good company of late and the Monmore based performer rates as a huge danger on her six bend debut.
Don’t rule out classy Opus Sky (T3), the Dave Mullins trained son of Droopys Cain has been very lightly raced this year due to various set backs but with a few recent runs under his belt he could go close tonight.
DROOPYS ASTORISH will take the world of beating in the 9.06 and if the Paul Young trained youngster breaks in best fashion from T1 its catch me if you can down the back straight. The April 14 son of Droopys Jet went into plenty of notebooks back on the 13th November when he showed decent all round pace and looked a certain future winner, since then things havent gone to plan with a second over course and distance and a run where he finished fourth at Hove over the standard four bend trip of 515 meters.
Now back at Romford and over a more suitable 400 meter distance the early paced railer has a cracking chance of getting on the bunny and making all. Droopys Darara (T3) rates as the main danger, the Jim Reynolds trained runner went well in a trial over course and distnace recently and would be a runner with a level break.
A little later on look out for MANIC PELLEGRINI who lines up from T1 in the 9.40 open race over the 575 meter trip at Romford. The son of Westmead Hawk has been staying on well in his races of late and he would be a huge runner here with a level break and clear run, don’t expect to see him up with the pace early on but if he’s within striking distance late on he will be hard to beat. Knockbawn Caviar (T2), Dower Duke (T3), and Our Bellissima (T4) are all early paced types and whichever manages to lead round will be the one to catch late on.
The final selection at Romford is OFFICE HAZARD (T1) in the marathon at 10.40 over the stamina zapping 750 meter eight bend trip. As the only railer in the race our selection looks very well drawn, with a level break and clear run into the first bend he will take all the beating. Local runners Pittsburgh Storm (T2) and Browick Dazzler (T5) are always worth a second look in the market, money for either is worth noting. Clonmoyle Shane (T6) stays on well and would be a danger to all if within striking disntace on the final circuit.
Over at Sunderland look out for BOHERNA PEDRO (T6) in the stayers open race at 8.58. The Pelaw Grange raider was an impressive winner over course and distance last week and he looks the one to beat tonight, if he breaks well from his wide draw it could be all over bar the shouting down the back straight.
