Romford and Sunderland live on Racing Post Greyhound TV
All eyes will be on RPGTV this evening for two very competitive and tricky cards – greyhound racing punters have plenty to get stuck into with thirteen opens at the London Road circuit Romford while over at Sunderland we have an all graded card to try and work out, lets crack on and find the winners!
The first race to highlight this evening is the 8.02 at Romford over the standard four bend trip of 400 meters.
Derby Plate finalist IBIZA ROCKS looks well drawn in T1 and if the Kevin Hutton trained runner breaks in best fashion he can make all at the rails, the key to the race will be holding Pinpoint Lad (T2) into the first corner as that rival can show decent early pace.
Don’t rule out Taranis Bolt from T6, the wide runner has a chance with a ping break.
REARGUARD BOND can take the Marathon Final at 9.24 from T1 – the son of Hades Rocket won well in the heats last Friday and a repeat of that run should be good enough to take this race. Bond looks well drawn on the rails and if holding that pitch early on he will take all the beating.
Pharisee Flyer (T4) could give our selection the most to do especially if leading on the first circuit. Borwick Dazzler (T5) and High Falcon (T6) both went well last week and have chances on their best form.
It could be worth taking a chance on SWIFT TILER (T4) in the 9.40 on his six bend debut, the son of Vans Escalade has decent four bend form at Romford and has always looked the type to do even better once stepped upto six bends, the key to victory this evening will be avoiding and early bump and turning handy off the second – do that and it’s race on.
Droopys Rum (T2) is another that should appreciate this trip and has a chance if leading at the rails. Swift Betsey (T6) is a little inconsistent but she has a chance on her best form around Henlow.
A little later on look out for DROOPYS TRAMORE from T2 in the Maiden Stayers Open over the 575 meter trip at 10.11.
The Tony Collett trained Sittingbourne raider has gone well over course and distance twice recently and looks ideally drawn this evening to follow Ballycannon Hope (T1) round and pick up that rival late on, the key to victory will be avoiding a bump around the first couple of bends, turn handy and Tramore should prove too strong for these.
Ballymac Loch (T5) has been keeping very good four bend company of late and has a chance on the bunny, Magical Garth (T6) is another in with a chance but the Yarmouth raider will need a flyer at the traps to clear the pace on his inside.
The final race on the card can go to JAYTEE DAVE in T1, the lightly raced youngster won well over the 695 meter trip at Hove recently so this slightly longer 750 meter trip should not be a problem, if Jaytee Dave manages to lead round he should go very close.
Random Queen (T3) is an interesting runner now stepped up in trip and has a chance with one of her better breaks. Tintreach Molly (T4) and Ferryforth Fran (T5) both stay this trip well and if either turn handy they rate as huge dangers to our selection.
Over at Sunderland look out for MAGICAL JAKE from T6 in the 9.15 A1 graded race. The early paced wide seed has won his last two in flying fashion and can take this top grade event with a similar sectional and clock. The key to the race will be the break, Jake has to lead to beat this field.
Head Iton Boris (T4) is an exciting Sunderland youngster and rates as the main danger to our selection. Redwood Rooster (T1) is a course and distance specialist and would be a huge runner if handy down the back straight.
PINPOINT LILLY from T6 can take the final race on the Sunderland card the A1 graded race at 10.35. The solo wide seed looks very well drawn here and with one of her better breaks she should turn handy and hit the front down the back straight.
Istheinkdry (T2) rates as the main danger as that rival looks the likely leader at the rails.
Best of luck if you’re having a bet on the greyhounds with us this weekend, as ever you can back all these selections over in our daily greyhound betting hub.
