Greyhound Racing from Romford and Sunderland live on Racing Post Greyhound TV
Greyhound racing punters have a decent card at Romford to try and work out tonight plus competitive graded action over at Sunderland – tonight’s show gets underway at 7.15pm with the first race at 7.25pm.
The first race to highlight is the Tony Williams Dual Distance Trophy heat number one at 8.50 over the six bend 575 meter trip. Rearguard Bond (T1) is likely to prove popular in the market but might struggle to keep tabs on the leaders early but will be staying on well to claim a qualifying place. JANOAN (T6) looks very well drawn and with one of her quicker starts she should be able to lead this field and pull clear and win this race tonight. The key to the race as ever is the break, we need Janoan to ping out and lead round. Aero Flamingo (T5) ran well last week and would be a danger to all on the bunny, the same can be said about the consistent Genie from T3. Brinkleys Stella (T2) is a class act but might find this trip a little on the short side.
MILLWARD KATY has won her last two races over course and distance and the middle seed can make all tonight in the 9.24 from T5 for trainer Paul Young. The race however is fully of early paced types so the break will be vital for our selection – ping out and it’s race on. Borna Karma (T6) returned to the track last week after a layoff and ran with credit behind our selection, if she has improved for that run she will be a danger to all from her plot draw as the solo wide seed. Mikes Machine (T2) is a consistent course and distance specialist who will be looking to lead at the rails, the Earnie Gaskin trained daughter of Slip The Lark will need to clear the pace either side and grab the rails to win this race.
JAYTEE BERLIN is a very interesting running in the maiden open at 9.40 from T1. The Paul Young trained railer has been running over four bend trips since moving over from Ireland but has always looked likely to appreciate an easy six bend distance – tonight draw in T1 and likely to hold the rails he could make all and rewards supporters. The key to the race will be holding Sneezys Rose (T2) into the first bend as that rival can show early pace. Brookside King (T4) has the pace to win a race like this recently but normally finds one too good, will tonight be any different?.
The final selection at Romford is EL SALVADOR from T1 in the 10.40 open race over the 575 meter trip. The Hall Green raider is up against the course and distance specialist Adageo Bob (T4), Coronation Cup winner Soviet Kenny (T5) and Essex Vase winner Adoremus (T6) but with a plot draw on the rails our selection El Salvador could be a spot of value against the favourites. As ever at Romford the break will be vital, with plenty of early pace middle to wide things could get messy around the first couple of bends and allow our selection to skip clear of the field – on the bunny the son of College Causeway could out run his price.
Over at Sunderland look out for WHATS OCCURIN from T3 in the 10.03 A7 graded race, the Kelly Macari trained youngster slightly missed the break last week but showed enough pace throughout to take a race of this nature. Tonight with a better break and sectional Whats Occurin should be able to make all.
Moving onto Saturday and it’s Shawfield live on RPGTV – The Scottish Derby Semi Finals
The first Semi Final at 8.42 is a cracker – with Ante Post favourites Newinn Yolo (T2) and Swift Hoffman (T6) lining up against each other anything could happen. TYNWALD RODNEY impressed last week over course and distance and the Irish raider could be the value bet in the race from T4.
The second Semi Final (8.58) can go to the Fraser Black trained Irish raider SAVE THE DON from T1. The key to the race will be the run into the first corner, our selection was very impressive last week when running from trap 4 and would need a similar break and sectional to beat this field tonight.
The third and final Semi Final (9.15) can go to another Irish raider in the shape of COOLAVANNY JAP from T3. The early paced railer showed blistering pace last week and with a similar break he will be very hard to beat, holding Kneejerkreation (T4) into the first corner will make or break the race for our selection.
As ever you can back these selections over in our daily greyhound betting hub. Best of luck if you’re having a punt on the greyhounds with us tonight.
