Romford and Sunderland live on Racing Post Greyhound TV
RPGTV returns to our screens this evening with a competitive all graded card from Sunderland plus a decent mixed card from the London road circuit Romford, join the RPGTV panel on Sky channel 212 and Freesat 401 from 7.15pm tonight.
The first race to highlight is the Maiden open race at 8.18 over the standard four bend trip of 400 meters at Romford.
TRIONAS TRUST is the selection from T3, the lightly raced son of Droopys Scolari has recently moved down from Sunderland and clearly handles the Romford track based on a flying 24.09 trial on the 7th October, a repeat of that should be good enough to take this race.
The slight concern is the draw, with Canvas Costa (T2) drawn inside our selection can not afford a tardy start, but if we clear that rival approaching the first bend Trionas Trust will take all the beating on Romford debut.
The Romford Friday Night 500 Maiden Stayers Final at 9.06 can go to the well drawn OUTDOOR RUMBLE from T1. The Yarmouth raider was ultra impressive over course and distance last week and if the solo railer breaks in similar fashion tonight it should be all over bar the shouting down the back straight.
Jaytee Paris (T6) rates as the main danger, the Paul Young trained wide seed was becoming a little frustrating to follow with a string of second and thirds next to his name but he won well in the heats last week and he would be a runner if leading out wide tonight.
In a race full of early paced railers BOLSHOI BOOZE (T6) could be in the perfect position to smash out of the boxes and make all and land the Romford Friday Night 500 Standard Final at 9.24 over the 400 meter trip for trainer Phil Simmonds.
The solo seeded greyhound in the race will need to ping out of the traps but if he does he should lead round and once on the bunny he’s a decent sort over this trip. Jolly Ranger (T2) rates as the main danger, the Poole raider looks the likely leader on the rails and he could be the one to challenge our selection down the back straight.
A little later on look out for BRISK BELLA from T1 in the 9.56 Romford Friday Night 500 Bitches Heat over the 400 meter trip. Bella is a class act over course and distance and she looks ideally drawn this evening to ping out and make all at the rails, the key to the race is simply the break, if she holds her pitch into the first corner she will take all the beating.
Mays Shiraz (T2) has been running well at Henlow recently and rates as a huge danger, if that rival was to ping out she would be a danger to all. Don’t rule out Millwards Katy form T4, the Paul Young trained daughter of Kinloch Brae is more that capable of taking a race like this on a going day.
The final seleciton at Romford tonight is Peterborough raider HAYDEEZHERO who runs from T2 in the 10.40 open race. The David Pruhs trained runner has been in flying form of late over the sprint trip at Nottingham and if he manages to translate that form to Romford he will take all the beating.
Haydeezhero has finished second on his two previous attempts over this trip but with a ping break he can go one better tonight and reward his backers. Toot Hill Wizard (T3) and Mays Teejay (T4) are both early paced types so its imperative that our selection starts well, a missed break would throw the race wide open.
Never Cry Wolf (T6) has been a little below his best of late but he would be a danger to all if trapping well this evening. Over at Sunderland look out for DROOPYS BARCLAY from T1 in the A1 graded at 9.32 over the standard four bend trip over 450 meters.
The son of Droopys Woods has returned to the track recently following a lengthy layoff and he looks a lively runner in this race based on the draw on the rails, the key will be holding his pitch into the first corner and turning off the second bend in a challenging position – avoid an early bump and it’s race on.
Tilery Rumble (T5) is a consistent sort in this type of race and the wide seed looks the danger along with Cloncunny Prince who could be the race leader from T6.
