Romford and Sunderland live on Racing Post Greyhound TV
Racing Post Greyhound TV returns to our screens this evening with competitive racing from Sunderland and Romford, the show is live on Sky channel 212 from 7.15pm with the first race at 7.31pm.
The first race to highlight is the Romford Friday Night 500 Maidens Final at 9.06 over the standard four bend trip of 400 meters.
BUBBLY ZEUS (T5) representing the Champagne Club is the selection for the race, the son of Kinloch Brae was very impressive in the heats last week and a repeat of that 3.80 sectional and 24.07 clock would be good enough to take this race, the key to victory as ever, will be the break and run into the first corner – lead round or turn handy and Bubbly Zeus will be very hard to beat.
Toot Hill Wizard (T2) and Earls Spartan (T3) will both be looking to lead at the rails and if either manage to do so they will be a danger to all.
The feature race on the Romford card is the Doug Tyler Summer Cup Final at 9.24, it looks a very competitive race and the break will be vital, whichever greyhound manages to lead round will take all the beating.
Based on the draw it could be worth taking a chance on BLONDE RAZOR from T1, the Mark Wallis trained Towcester raider is the only railer in the field and should get a clear run into the first corner, if he can hold his pitch into the first corner and lead off the second bend he will be the one to beat. Jimmy Nailed On (T5) won well in the heats and could be the one to chase home our selection.
The 9.56 open race over the 400 meter trip can go to BRISK BELLA from T1, the early paced railer has her drawn this evening and if she breaks in best fashion she can take this race. Millwards Katy (T3) looks the danger to our selection, if Katy breaks well she will be a huge runner. Borna Karma (T5) and Farran Lisicki (T6) are both early paced types and whichever leads out wide will be a danger to all.
A little later on look out for BOLSHOI BOOZE from T4 in the 10.26 open race, the early paced middle seed has won his last four over course and distance and with a similar sectional he will be very hard to beat here.
The Phil SImmonds trained son of Kinloch Brae has been recording 3.66 and 3.69 sectionals of late and a repeat of that would see him clear at the first corner and once on the bunny he is a classy sort over this trip. Any Dak (T6) is approaching five years old but the wide seed still shows plenty of pace in his races and has a chance with a ping break.
The final selection on the Romford card is BUBBLY GOLD (T1) in the Champion Stakes Trial Stakes open race at 10.40. Bubbly Gold won the Grand Prix at Sunderland recently and is clearing in good form, last time out over course and distance the Paul Young trained runner was slow away but ran with credit to get within three lengths of Blonde Razor, with a better break this evening Bubbly Gold can hold the rails and lead off the third bend and take this race. Soviet Kenny (T5) is a class act over this trip and has a chance with one of his better breaks.
Over at Sunderland look out for MILL BATISTA (T6) in the 10.18 A2 graded race over the standard 450 meter trip, the solo wide seed looks ideally drawn and if he breaks well he will be a huge runner and could hit the front down the back straight.
Morell Mikey (T4) looks the likely leader down the centre of the track and the son of Tyrur Big Mike rates as the danger to our selection. Calzaghe Olivia (T3) is one to note in the betting market on debut.
Best of luck if you’re having a bet on the greyhounds with us this weekend, as ever you can back all these selections over in our daily greyhound betting hub.
