The 2015 Grand Prix and Classic Semi-finals live on Racing Post Greyhound TV
It’s Friday which can mean only one thing – Romford and Sunderland live on RPGTV from 7.15pm. Greyhound punters have plenty to get stuck into with thirteen races from each track to try and work out and with a mixture of opens and graded races there’s a little bit of something for everyone.
The first race to highlight this evening is the Romford Friday Night 500 Final at 9.24 and the open race can be won by the well drawn MAYS SHIRAZ in T1.
The daughter of Crash was very impressive when winning from off the pace last time out and looks plotted up on the rails this evening in a race full of middle and wide runners – if she turns handy in this race she will take all the beating.
Twilight Mystery (T3) rates as the main danger especially if the rival pings and leads down the back straight.
A little later on look out for CLONDOTY ALEX from T1 in the final race on the card at 10.40. The Mark Wallis trained son of Razldazl Jayfkay has some cracking form over course and distance and with one of his better breaks he can make all on the rails.
Pinpoint Lad (T3) has been flying of late and rates as the danger. Taranis Bolt (T5) and See No Gamble (T6) are both class acts and have chances if leading out wide in a very competitive open race.
Over at Sunderland look out for EDEN BRAE from T4 in the 9.48 A1 graded race over the standard 450 meter trip.
The early paced middle runner from the Yvonne Bell kennel looks the likely leader and on the bunny he will be hard to beat. The key to the race will be the break lead round and it’s race on.
Saturday – Crayford and Sunderland live on Racing Post Greyhound TV
All eyes this evening will be on Sunderland for the semi-finals of the Grand Prix and Classic plus the start of the very competitive Puppy Plate and Festival Flyer competitions.
The first Grand Prix semi-final to highlight is the 7.39, TEEJAYS PANTHER looks well drawn and if the Romford raider from the Paul Young kennel leads round he will prove hard to beat.
Panther was beaten in the heats last week but he ran with credit and could be one to watch over six bend trips this summer. Teejayspowerhawk (T3) was very impressive over course and distance last week and will be looking to grab a qualifying spot for next weeks final.
BLACKHOUSE HEIDI can take the 7.54 from T1, the daughter of College Causeway found plenty of trouble at the first bend last time out yet still managed to stay on well and grab a spot for this semi final, with a plot draw on the rails our selection just has to turn handy and then it’s race on.
The 2015 Classic over the standard 450 meter trip looks a wide open event, in the first semi at 8.10 look out for PINPOINT MAXI from the Kelly Macari kennel – the former winner of this event is a flying machine over c&d and will take all the beating if he manages to clear kennel mate Pinpoint Finas (T1) into the first corner.
Jolly Tricks from T4 is a top class four bend greyhound and could go well if breaking level with the field.
The third semi-final (8.42) can go to KNNEJERKREACTION from T3, our selection won the Northern Puppy Derby late last year at Newcastle and has hit the ground running this summer with impressive wins in the Scottish Debry heats and here over c&d last week when recording a flying 26.74 clock – a repeat of that would surely see him take this race.
Crokers Champ (T4) is a class act and rates as the main danger. Conna Trigger (T5) is blessed with early pace and has a chance with a ping break.
A little later on look out for DROOPYS BUICK in the Puppy Plate heat at 9.32 from T1, the Newcastle raider made a huge impression over course and distance back on the 26th June and a repeat of that would see him leading at the rails and once on the bunny he would be hard to beat.
Best of luck if you’re having a bet on the greyhounds with us this weekend – as ever you can back all these selections over in our daily greyhound betting hub.
