United can keep Manchester bragging rights against City at Old Trafford
Manchester City have won six of their last eight Premier League matches against arch-rivals Manchester United, though it was the Red Devils that came out on top at Old Trafford last season.
Goals from Ashley Young, Marouane Felaini, Juan Mata and Chris Smalling earning the bragging rights in April. Young will miss the reunion, however, and City will be without Sergio Aguero, who scored both goals for his side that day.
The last 10 matches between City and United have produced an average of four goals and we are offering 15/8 that Over 3.5 goals are scored in this latest renewal in our Goal Over/Under betting.
Both teams were in Champions League action during the week. City beat Sevilla at the Etihad with a last-minute goal from record signing Kevin de Bruyne and are looking good for qualification. United’s group is too close to call at present but Louis van Gaal will have been content with a point from a tricky game against CSKA in Moscow and they should also make the knockout stages with two home games still to come.
Wilfried Bony will continue to deputise for Aguero in attack but Manuel Pellegrini will have an anxious wait to see if David Silva is fit enough to return. The Spanish forward has been one of City’s best players this season but missed the win over Sevilla. Captain Vincent Kompany was only a substitute on Wednesday but has been a thorn in United’s side on more than one occasion in the past so could be risked at Old Trafford.
Yaya Toure has scored in three of City’s last six games against United and is 14/5 to be an Anytime Goalscorer this Sunday. Wayne Rooney has a similar record in Manchester derbies and is 11/2 in our Last Goalscorer list.
This weekend’s game may prove a lot more cagey than recent encounters. City have issues at both ends of the pitch but United had an arduous journey in midweek. That said, the home win still looks the best option at 31/20 in our Full Time Result betting.
The match kicks off at 2.05pm on Sunday, October 25th at Old Trafford
