Man United are struggling for any kind of form and the one team you don’t want to go to in the Premier League when you are desperate for a win is Stoke City. This is going to be a tough visit for the fallen giants.
Will under-pressure manager Louis van Gaal be in charge for the match is the big question? Well if he is and they lose then Jose Mourinho might be in the Old Trafford hot-seat on Monday night when they take on Chelsea.
United are just 13/10 to win this with BetBright. I know that the Red Devils have a massive following all over the world but, please don’t waste your money on them, especially at this time of the year when everybody needs a little extra in their bank balance.
United are now without a win in their last six matches; in their last two domestic games they’ve lost them both 2-1 against the mighty Bournemouth and last week’s embarrassment at home to Norwich.
Away from home it’s really not any better, in fact it’s worse; they’ve only won once in their last six matches and there is nothing at all to like about them at them at the BetBright prices, as they’ve also failed to win this fixture in the last two years.
Former Man United ace Mark Hughes would love to get three points against his former side and at the 9/4 with BetBright, I’m very tempted.
That 9/4 does look a very big price as they always raise their game against the big boys as they did against both Man City and Chelsea winning 2-0 and 1-0 respectively at the Britannia last month.
The one thing you don’t get in Stoke matches is many goals and that looks set to continue again – this looks certain to be very tight.
Last weekend’s 2-1 defeat at home to Crystal Palace was the first time in Stoke’s last 12 matches where more than two goals have been scored and goals are certainly going to be at a premium again in this one.
Under 2.5 goals in the match even at the very short looking 8/15 looks a very safe option for odds-on punters as United are struggling for goals as well.
Both teams have failed to score in 10 of Stokes last 12 matches but, that market has been a winner in five of the last six United matches and for that reason I’m steering well clear of that one.
I just can’t see Stoke losing this match but, I’m not totally convinced they can win it either.
Instead of taking the 9/4 on the home side I can’t believe that they are 6/5 with BetBright in the draw no bet market which sees us win on a Stoke victory and get our money back if the game ends in a draw.
With seven draws in their last 13 for United and three stalemates in the last seven in Stoke games, everything points to another close one.
if you are looking for a value correct-score punt my cash would be on a 1-1 draw and maybe a bit of value at 9/4 on honours being shared but, instead of taking the 9/4 I’m just going to have a small play on the match to end 1-1 at the 43/10 with BetBright.
Under 2.5 Goals @ 8/15
Correct Score 1-1 @ 43/10
