The biggest match in the Premier League this weekend is without question Saturday night’s live clash at at the Etihad between leaders Manchester City, and Liverpool.
Both of these sides will be looking to bounce back to winning ways after they both suffered disappointing results before the international break and it’s no surprise to me to see City installed as BetBright’s 5/8 favourites for this one.
City let odds-on punters down with a coupon-busting draw at Aston Villa a fortnight ago, but they do arrive in this one unbeaten in their last nine and with the return of David Silva and possible Sergio Aguero back in their squad, that is an ominous sign for the rest of the Premier League.
Liverpool suffered their first defeat under Jurgen Klopp in the 2-1 at home to Crystal Palace which was only their first defeat in 13 matches and some might be tempted by the 4/1 on offer for them to win this with BetBright.
Don’t: that would be my advice, as City never lose this fixture and are now unbeaten in their last six at home to Liverpool. I just can’t see any way the visitors can get maximum points in this one.
The one thing that I do expect them to do is, though, is score, and the goals markets are the way to profit on Saturday night for sure.
Sometimes the big games in the Premier League don’t live up to the expectation but, this one always delivers with 27 goals featured in the last seven meetings between the pair and that trend looks set to continue.
In those magnificent seven matches every single one of them has seen both teams scoring and every single one has all seen over 2.5 goals backers collect; those two market are the best way to profit again.
Both teams to score as a “Yes” is 3/4 with BetBright. That has staggeringly been a winner in 10 of the last 12 City matches, in 11 of Liverpool’s last 14 games and is without question the best bet for anyone contemplating a wager in this match.
Over 2.5 goals in the match is 7/10 with BetBright – with both sides having excellent attacks and not so good defences that is also a wager I’m having, in what promises to be a very entertaining match up.
Every week I just can’t help myself to get involved in a 2-2 draw (I’m sure I’m suffering from “Desmonditis”) and this week the most likely “Desmond” in the Premier League has to be this match.
At the 13/1 with BetBright on the game ending 2-2, well I just have to get involved.
In three of those last seven meetings between the pair, this match has finished 2-2 and at the working prices on offer, it’s well worth a small interest of anybody’s money.
Two players will be going up against their former sides for the first time and both we will receive very different receptions with James Milner likely to get a great reaction from the City fans, but the same can’t be said for Raheem Sterling from the visiting Liverpool supporters.
England man Sterling has already scored four goals for his new club and he might have the last laugh in this one with the opening goal at 6/1 with BetBright.
Both Teams To Score @ 3/4
Over 2.5 Goals @ 7/10
Correct Score 2-2 @ 13/1
Raheem Sterling First Goalscorer @ 6/1
