At the start of the season what price would Chelsea have been to beat Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League – 1/6, 1/7?
Well odds-on backers will be falling over themselves this weekend to take the 4/11 with BetBright available on the Blues’ when they host the sea-siders on Saturday night.
After an what has been an awful start to the season Chelsea are looking a lot more like the Chelsea we know and even though I’ve tried to find a case to oppose Jose Mourinho’s side for this match, I just can’t find one.
“The Special One” made a another massive call last week to leave Diego Costa on the bench at White Hart Lane and it worked as the 0-0 was their best performance of the season.
The pleasing thing for Chelsea supporters is the defence looks strong again after three successive clean sheets and I can’t see them conceding on Saturday either.
The Blues’ are now unbeaten in their last three matches (their best run of the season). Those matches have been far from entertaining with both teams failing to score in all of them and just two goals featured in their last three Premier League matches.
Despite them being such short price favourites, I really don’t believe that there will be many goals in this one.
Next week Chelsea have a massive Champions League clash with Porto and they may have that on their mind already. Mourinho will just want to get past this one with maximum points and make sure nobody gets injured.
I can see them going 1-0 up and settling for that. At 23/4 with BetBright that is my correct-score fancy in west London.
Bournemouth come here as the 33/5 underdogs and many will expect Eddie Howe’s side to have a go and cause Chelsea problems. They will certainly try to entertain but, I can’t see many issues being caused, though.
They incredibly scored two injury time goals last week at home to Everton to get a morale boosting 3-3 draw, but no wins in their last 10 matches is not the kind of form you want to be bringing to the champions of England.
I can see them putting in another gallant display, but just losing out by the smallest of margins.
Eden Hazard had his best game in a Chelsea shirt last week at White Hart Lane and it’s not going to be long until the Belgian international gets back on the scoresheet. I like at 4/1 to open the scoring in what is hopefully the only goal of the match.
Correct Score Chelsea 1-0 @ 23/4
Eden Hazard First Goalscorer @ 4/1
