I’ll be honest… I am actually on fire – someone, please: put me out! I’ve called some absolute blinders!!
Dzeko anytime and Salah First goal scorer? Yes! 1-1 draw between Arsenal and Atletico in the Europa two days later? Obviously!! 4-1 between West Ham and City? Course I did!!!!
Not long now until the end of the season and it’s hotting right up down at the bottom of the table – Bulldog’s back with a bang and I’ve got a HUGE SHOUT for you to look out for!!
Liverpool are off to Kyiv!
What an achievement from Klopp and his men!
For me, this Liverpool team are the perfect Cup Side. What I mean by that is that they’ll have their off-days over the course of the season and aren’t a side to grind out results, so if they aren’t at the races, don’t have the appetite to win the ball back and they’re not 100% at it, then they won’t win – but if you look at the vast majority of their big games this season, they’ve been well up for it and have often blown teams away.
Klopp plays with the three musketeers going forward (Salah, Mane and Firmino) but then he’s got the three doggers behind in Wijnaldum, Henderson and Milner who just rat around for fun which gives the team so much attacking freedom.
No one’s talking about Coutinho anymore are they?! I tell you what, if they had him this season, they could have been even better, but, you never know, Salah may not have taken the mantle like he has done!
It’ll be interesting to see how they do when they come up against Real Madrid and I tell you what, both teams are pretty similar in terms of leaking goals at the back – yeah, you read that right: Real Madrid DO leak goals and if they ain’t at it, then Liverpool will beat them, without a shadow of a doubt!
I favour the underdog in this one – psychologically, Liverpool will be at it. They’ll have the whole City behind them, stories of those famous European nights will be re-told to them in the build up and Klopp will have them chomping at the bit to go out there and prove themselves…
Saying that, there is a little voice in my head asking whether or not this might be a step too far- you’ve got to go with your gut though and if, like me, you want to back the underdog, then you can back Liverpool to win with BetBright, where they’re 2/1.
Handbags at The Hammers
There was a bit of a tear-up during the week between Andy Carroll and Moyesy, after the big man didn’t feature in their 4-1 home defeat to Manchester City last weekend. He’s in the squad for their massive game against Leicester this weekend though, so it seems like they’ve kissed and made up.
I used to have ding-dongs with my Managers all the time and these bust ups happen more than you think, so I wouldn’t read too much into it – you’ll be surprised what agents with big mouths leak to the press and today with social media, it doesn’t take long for the public to find things out.
The thing that often leads to disagreements between a gaffer and one of his players is when the Manager goes quiet and doesn’t explain his decisions.
So, it sounds like there was no explanation as to why he wasn’t put on against City (called the 4-1 result btw– sorry!!!), they’ve let it linger on and it’s come to a head at the training ground.
West Ham will stay up. They’ll win one of their games against Leicester, Everton or United and if I’m totally honest, I think they’re just about there with 35 points, anyway…
The Survival Scrap Is On!
As I’ve said, I think West Ham are safe, simply because Stoke and Southampton have got to win their last two games to stand any chance of staying up and even then, their goal difference isn’t all that – not being funny, but they ain’t good enough to win two on the bounce.
Swansea, like Southampton, are a side who want to do things the right way and play good football, but struggle with it at the foot of the table. Huddersfield aren’t safe either, so any one of those sides could see themselves in The Championship next season.
Get ready for call of the season – WEST BROM ARE GOING TO TAKE IT RIGHT TO THE FINAL DAY!
Bulldog’s Bank Holiday Bets
Not being funny, but I’m THE BOY right now – some of my predictions have been outrageously good and I reckon I’ve got some winners for you for this weekend…
I can see Stoke (8/5) sneaking a win against Crystal Palace (7/4) in Saturday’s early Kick Off. I know I said they wont win both of their remaining games, but they stand a chance here and I’ll be backing Crouchy to bag anytime (11/5) – he’ll be an experienced head in that dressing room and I can see him stepping up to the plate when they need him.
The Baggies are on the ropes, they are only one loss away from being sunk, but… MOMENTUM IS HUGE in the relegation battle and they’re unbeaten in their last four games – they will not go down without a fight!
I’m telling you now: the one game you want to be at this weekend is WBA v Spurs and I’m putting them on the line: West Brom (13/2) WILL WIN!
I fancy Chelsea to win Sunday’s late kick off 3-1 (14/1) and even if you don’t agree with the score line, then back The Blues outright at 6/5 with BetBright – Liverpool have simply spent too much energy this week and Chelsea will still believe they have a glimmer of hope in qualifying for the Champions League, so will be well up for it at The Bridge.
Have a great Bank Holiday People and keep an eye out for how I do with my predictions over the weekend!
