Draw in final group game will suit already-qualified Tottenham
A point will be enough for Tottenham to top Group J but Mauricio Pochettino will want his team to end the first phase of the Europa League with a maximum against Monaco at White Hart Lane.
Spurs have lost just once in front of their own fans this season, against Arsenal in the Capital One Cup, and have won both home games so far in Group J. They’ve won five of their last seven home games in the Europa League and drawn the other two so have been a reliable betting proposition.
But we have priced the Londoners up at 11/10 in our Full Time Result betting given that Monaco have drawn both away matches so far in the section by the same 1-1 scoreline – a 1-1 Correct Score in this one is 9/2 with the draw in 90 minutes at 12/5.
To complicate matters, Spurs are likely to again field a mixture of first-team and fringe players with the manager keen to get more game time into the likes of Ryan Mason, Tom Carroll and Kieran Trippier with the busy Christmas period fast approaching. But Eric Dier and Harry Kane have been regulars in Europe this season, as has Dele Alli.
Monaco have to win this one and hope that Qarabag take at least a point off Anderlecht if they are to qualify but that looks a tall order as they’ve not been in the greatest form lately having managed only two wins in their last six. However, Leonardo Jardim’s team will throw men forward and have scored five in their last two away games.
Both Teams to score looks value at 3/4 but don’t expect an avalanche of goals as Monaco’s last four away matches in the Europa League have produced Under (2.5) goals (also 3/4 in our Goals Over/Under market).
The match kicks off at 8.05pm on Thursday, December 10 at the White Hart Lane
