Wolves should recapture the winning thread against the struggling Dons
Wolves are very much looking towards the future as well as concentrating on the present and Dominic Iorfa has become the latest of the club’s up-and-coming young talent to sign a contract extension.
The 20-year-old full back is now part of the England U21 squad and has been a model of consistency this year. He’ll be one of those featuring as Wolves return to Molineux to take on MK Dons.
Back-to-back draws against Burnley and Ipswich, who are both in the top 10 in the Championship, have given notice that Kenny Jackett’s men are about to get back to winning ways and we have priced up the Midlanders at 3/4 to take maximum points against the struggling Dons, who currently occupy the final relegation place on goal difference having already lost 10 times this season.
Jackett is still convinced that Wolves have what it takes to get among the play-off contenders and these are the type of games they will have to win to justify that faith.
We forecast that Benik Afobe would enjoy himself against the Ipswich defence last week and Wolves top scorer duly netted his side’s second equaliser at Portman Road after James Henry had cancelled out the Tractor Boys’ opener.
Winger Henry is 11/1 to be First Goalscorer against the MK Dons with Afobe at 4/1. Adam Le Fondre is likely to be recalled if the manager reverts to a 4-4-2 formation for this game and is 5/1 in the same market. Jack Price has a bruised hip but he and Dave Edwards could be competing for one central midfield spot alongside Kevin McDonald. Carl Ikeme will continue to deputise in goal for the injured Emiliano Martinez.
MK Dons won on their only previous visit, in their present reincarnation, to Molineux at the end of 2013 but Wolves won the return fixture in League One the following March.
The Dons have only scored seven goals in eight away games in the Championship and managed just one in their last three – all defeats. The visitors are 13/10 to score 0 in our Goal Away Team market – Wolves score first and Wolves win is 5/6 in our Matchflow betting.
The match kicks off at 3.00pm on Saturday, November 28th at Molineux
