Wolves looking to build on Burnley draw against former boss
Newcastle defender Mike Williamson has agreed to extend his loan deal at Molineux until the middle of January. The 32-year-old has played three games for Wanderers since arriving at the end of October on an initial one-month deal and has steadied the ship.
Williamson was instrumental as Wolves shut out high-flying Burnley just before the international break and will help the club cope with injuries to Kortney Hause and Ethan Ebanks-Landell through a very busy December and Christmas period.
Ipswich are next up for Wanderers and we have priced up the Tractor Boys at 53/20 to score 0 in our Goals Home Team market this Saturday. Town have a tendency to start slowly at home and the Draw in our Half Time Result is Evens with Wolves at 57/20 to be leading at the interval.
Wanderers are 95/40 to win this latest encounter in our Full Time Result betting (they’ve won in four of their last eight visits to Portman Road dating back to 2002) with the draw at 9/4. With the cushion of a goal start in our Handicap odds, Wolves are 4/6. Jackett’s men are 11/4 to score more goals in the first half than the second half.
There’s a feeling that Ipswich are vulnerable at the back to pace so this could be the game in which to back Benik Afobe to end his month-long goal drought. The England U21 striker is 2/1 to be an Anytime Goalscorer with the manager keen to talk up his team’s promotion chances after that encouraging draw with Burnley, though Emiliano Martinez could miss out against Ipswich with Carl Ikeme standing by to resume goalkeeping duties.
The match kicks off at 3.00pm on Saturday, November 21st at Portman Road
