Racing Post Greyhound TV returns to our screens this evening with a decent all open race card from Romford to work out plus a tricky graded card from Sunderland. Join the RPGTV panel on Sky channel 468 from 7pm for all the latest greyhound betting news, race previews and market mover information.
The first race to highlight this evening is the 8.03 open race from Romford over the standard four bend trip of 400 metres. DAWSONS WAFT looks well drawn in T2 and if the Maxine Locke trained runner pings out in best fashion and grabs the rails he will take all the beating. Swift Dartmoor (T4) and Snowdon Bolt (T6) have both been running well of late and rate as huge dangers. Don’t rule out consistent Newland Peter from T1, if he manged to hold the rails into the first corner he would be a huge runner in a competitive race.
Early pace is vital around Romford and YOUNG LORD is blessed with blistering early gears and the Paul Young trained runner looks the likely race leader and winner when he lines up from T4 at 8.21. The September 15 son of Loughteen Blanco will need to bring his trapping boots to clear classy Calco Flyer in T3 but if he manages to do so it’s race on down the back straight. Quivers Camps (T1) looks well drawn on the rails and is one to note in the market.
At 8.37 keep and eye on YOUNG CHAOS who runs from T1 for trainer Paul Young. The early paced railer looks ideally drawn this evening and with a level break he should hold his pitch into the first corner and hit the back straight on the bunny, lead round and it’s race on for this consistent Romford performer. Thatchers Romeo (T4) and Cappoquin Jack (T5) rate as the main dangers, both are capable of winning a race like this from the front or from slightly off the pace.
Draws win races and one who looks plotted up this evening is CHOPCHOP HOPE who runs from T6 in the 8.53 open race from Romford. The solo wide seed caught the eye last time out when staying on well to finish second on her London road début, tonight from what looks an ideal draw she can go one better and land the Friday night standard final and take home the prize for her connections. Parkers Dynamite looks the main danger from T2, the lightly raced son of Kinloch Brae looks one to follow over the coming months.
The stayers final at 9.09 over the six bend 575 metre trip looks at the mercy of Towcester raider BARRICANE TOMMY from T3. The January 15 son of Ballymac Eske recorded a flying 13.65 sectional and 35.23 clock over course and distance last week, a repeat of that run would surely be good enough to take this race. Kennelmate Barricane Jagger from T4 looks the main danger, on the bunny he could prove hard to peg back.
The final selection from Romford tonight is KILTREA MIKE who runs from T2 in the eight bend 750 metre marathon race at 10.23. The Mark Wallis trained Towcester raider looks a huge runner based on his Irish form and granted a clear run on the first circuit he should take this race. The key to victory will be clearing Rylane Dash (T1) into the first corner, do that and it’s race on. Pension Power (T5) won well last time out at Crayford and would be a danger to all on the bunny.
Over at Sunderland keep an eye on TOM TOM CHARLIE who lines up from T6 in the 8.44 handicap race. The consistent scratch runner will be flying down the back straight and if he avoids trouble at the third bend he can power through late on to claim victory.
