Racing Post Greyhound TV returns to our screens this evening with action from Romford and Sunderland taking centre stage. Join the RPGTV panel on Sky channel 468 from 7pm for all the latest greyhound betting news, race previews and market mover information.
The first race to highlight this evening is the eight bend marathon race at 8.03 from the London road circuit Romford. KARLOW TURBO looks very well drawn on the rails in T1 and if the Hove raider traps in best fashion he should turn in a handy pitch and power clear down the back straight. Saffrons Tina from T6 rates as the main danger, the Mark Wallis trained runner looks the likely race leader but is entering the unknown now stepped up to eight bends for the first time. Local six bend performer Chips And Gravy (T4) has been staying on well in his races and is one to note in the market.
At 9.09 look out for CLONDOTY ALEX who runs from T2 in the Romford Friday night 500 standard final over the 400 metre trip. Alex has been in flying form of late and if he breaks in best fashion this evening this race could be all over bar the shouting down the back straight. As ever the key to victory will be the break and run into the first corner, lead round or turn in a handy pitch and it’s race on for this classy son of Razldazl Jayfkay. Azza Boy beat Clondoy Alex last time out over course and distance and the Poole raider rates as the main danger from T5.
One to watch this evening is YOUNG BLITZ who lines up from T3 in the 9.44 open race from Romford over the standard four bend trip of 400 metres. The lightly raced son of Drumcrow Obama has been running well in sprint races of late and if he puts his early gears to best use here and leads round he will take all the beating. Droopys Nissan from T4 is another worth noting, the Poole raider has a 23.78 course and distance clock to his name so he is clearly a very pacey performer when running at full fitness. Courts Ad Peter (T2) is a little inconsistent at the boxes but if he traps out and leads round he could surprise at decent odds.
Romford 575 metre specialist ROSWELL ROMANOV looks well drawn in the 10.01 and if the Towcester raider is granted a clear run around the first couple of bends he will take all the beating from T2. The Mark Wallis trained runner won well last time out in front of the RPGTV camera’s and if he can repeat that flying 13.39 sectional the others will be playing for second place. Rio San Marino (T4) looks the main danger to Romanov, if Rio led round it’s catch me if you can down back straight.
The final selection on the Romford card this evening is AAYAMZA BREEZE who runs from T2 in the eight bend marathon race at 10.23. The February 15 daughter of Aero Majestic recorded a flying 23.76 sectional and 47.29 clock on her last attempt over this course and distance, if she can trap out and avoid first bend bother she should take this race. The concern for Aayamza Breeze backers will be the pace in traps three and four, Goldies Seb (T3) and Droopys Dart (T4) are bother capable performers over this trip and both show early pace, although this race is over the stamina zapping trip of 750 metres this race could be decided at the first bend.
Over at Sunderland look out for PENNYS WANDA who runs from T1 in the handicap race at 7.54. The early paced railer looks very well in off sixteen metres and she could be clear of the chasing pack down the back straight, stamina is not her strong put so she will need a healthy lead off the final bend to hang on for victory. Tom Tom Charlie from T6 looks the obvious danger, the course and distance specialist will be cutting through the pack late on and would be a danger to all if within striking disntace.
At 8.44 keep an eye on MILL VIOLET who runs from T3 for trainer Kelly Macari in the A3 graded race over the standard four bend trip of 450 metres. The September 15 daughter of Ballymac Eske has only raced twice so far and with plenty of improvement to come he is one to note in the market, significant market support should be noted for this runner.
