All eyes will be on Romford this evening as the London road venue returns to our screens live on Frontrunner TV Sky channel 468 from 7pm. Join the RPGTV panel for all the latest greyhound betting news, race previews and market mover information.
The first race to highlight this evening is the maiden stayers race at 8.21 from Romford over the six bend 575 metre trip. Lightly raced BARRICANE JAGGER looks well drawn in T4 and with a ping break the Pat Janssens trained Towcester raider looks the likely leader and once on the bunny he will take all the beating. Fire Height Josh (T3) caught the eye recently at his home track
Towcester when he stayed on well over four bends and rates as a huge runner on six bend début. Local runner Fizzypop Mia (T2) has course and distance form and would be a danger to all if she managed to lead round.
The Romford Friday night 500 stayers final at 9.09 can go to ROSWELL ROMANOV who lines up from T3 for his trainer Mark Wallis. The consistent August 14 son of Quail Hollow is a class act over this six bend 575 metre trip and with a level break he looks likely to make all and land this prize for his connections. My Mate Max (T2) is capable of a flashy break and he could be the one to challenge Romanov early on. Don’t rule out Oakfield Caesar from T6, if it got messy on the rails the wide seeded runner could be the one to take advantage.
At 9.26 it could be worth taking a chance on DIABLO who runs from T1 over the standard four bend trip of 400 metres at Romford. The early paced railer will need to trap out in best fashion to hold his pitch into the first corner but if he manages to lead off the second bend he will prove hard to peg back. Thatchers Romeo (T4) looks the main danger, back on the 26th May the middle seed recorded a flying 3.72 sectional and 24.09 clock, a repeat of that run would make him a huge runner here.
Keep an eye on CLODAGH WARRIOR who runs from T2 in the 9.44 open race from Romford over the six bend 575 metre trip. The PhIl Simmonds trained son of Droopys Cain looks capable of leading this field and if he’s granted a soft lead he could prove hard to beat. Glamorous Sharif (T4) is the other that consistently shows early pace and he could be the one to challenge our selection on the first circuit. Rylane Dash (T1) will be staying on well late on and would be a danger to all if within striking distance off the final bend.
The final selection at Romford this evening is YOUNG LORD (T6) in the 10.01 open race over the 400 metre four bend trip. The middle seed is drawn a little wider than normal here but that could work in his favour in a race that could get messy on the rails. Dawsons Waft (T4) will be looking for the rails at trap rise and that could cause trouble for those drawn on his inside, if there is bumping on the rails Young Lord will be in the perfect pitch to take advantage and make all from T6.
Over at Sunderland look out for EL CLASICO (T6) in the four bend handicap race at 9.33. The scratch runner is often there or thereabouts in these type of races and looks a huge runner again this evening. The consistent son of Kinloch Brae will need to avoid trouble down the back straight and around the third bend but if he manages to do so he can get up late on and claim the victory for his connections.
