All eyes will be on Hove this evening as the 2017 Regency final takes centre stage at 9.08 live in front of the Sky Sports camera’s.
The first race to highlight this evening is the sprint open race at 7.11 over the two bend 285 metre trip. ELA ELA GENIE looks well drawn and the Towcester raider is the selection from T3. The May 14 son of Brett Lee impressed last time out over course and distance when he recorded a decent 16.22 clock, a repeat of that run would make him the one to beat this evening. Trapstyle Jet looks well drawn in T1 and rates as the main danger. Consistent local runner Swift Watson (T5) is not without a chance and is one to note in the market.
At 7.26 get on the well drawn wide seed FOREST CON who runs from T6 for local trainer Seamus Cahill. The lightly raced son of Ballymac Vic looks plotted up out wide and granted a clear run early on he should hit the front off the second bend and power clear down the back straight. Dusko Popov (T3) is a capable sort on the bunny and rates as the main danger, if Popov managed to lead round he would surely go close. Don’t rule out Hall Green raider Let Me Tell You who lines up from T1, with a short run into the first corner over the 475 metre trip at Hove the early paced railer could be a pitch to nip round.
The 7.59 open race over the standard four bend trip of 515 metre’s looks at the mercy of wide seed Brinkleys King (T6) who looks well drawn and will take all the beating if he avoids first bend bother, but at the prices he represents little value so punters will be looking elsewhere for one to take on the favourite with. SWORDS WIZARD (T2) starts and stays, if the Peterborough raider was to pop out and lead round he could outrun his current price and give punters something to cheer down the back straight.
The 8.33 open race over the extended six bend trip of 740 metres looks ultra competitive, Karlow Turbo (T2) is likely to prove popular with local punters but it’s GOLDIES SEB who appeals from T5 as a betting proposition. The Towcester raider impressed last time out at Sheffield in front of the Sky camera’s and if he breaks in similar fashion this evening and leads round he will take all the beating. As ever the key to the race will be the break and run into the first corner, lead round and it’s race on. Droopys Tamera (T6) will be approaching peak fitness following her recent layoff and shes one to note in the market.
At 8.51 look out for well drawn CRASH who lines up from T5 in the 515 metre open race from Hove. The former Irish trained runner is blessed with blistering early pace and if he puts that to good use and leads round here it’s catch me if you can down the back straight. Barricane Tiger (T1) and Droopys Acrobat (T2) are classy performers and they can’t be ruled out in a competitive open race. Wide seed Droopys Missouri recorded an impressive 29.61 clock over course and distance last time out and would be a danger to all granted a clear run into the first corner.
At 9.08 the 2017 Regency final takes centre stage and it’s AAYAMZA BREEZE (T5) that’s taken to lift the trophy. The Febuary 15 daughter of Aero Majestic showed huge middle gears in the semi finals last week over course and distance and looks a lively runner this evening. The key to the race will be the break and run into the first corner, avoid first bend bother – turn in a handy pitch and it’s race on. Tyrap Dragi (T6) has a cracking draw to work from and has a chance on the bunny. Rubys Rascal (T4) is a class act and will surely go close with a level break.
