The Premier League is back, Ladies and Gents, and so is The Bulldog with my Premier League Predictions – I’ve got a good feeling about this weekend and reckon I am going to pick out some nice winners for you all…
Liverpool v Manchester United
This is the big game of the weekend – wow! When these boys clash, the whole country watches!!
I expect a few ding-dongs in this one, because it always goes off. Some people have questioned whether it means as much to the players now a days, but I’m expecting another fiery affair – the fans absolutely hate each other and I think it just spills on to the pitch!
I can’t see Liverpool beating United, who are obviously going to score aren’t they! United are strong going forward and they’ve got two goals in them at Anfield – all day long!
Are Liverpool good going forward? Yeah, they could get a couple as well, but Mane’s out and although they have Coutinho, he doesn’t pose the threat that Mane does in behind – if Mane was playing I’d give Liverpool a chance.
United have only conceded two goals this season, which is ridiculous, so they’ll be much more comfortable at the back and they’ll have too much going forward.
Burnley v West Ham
If big Andy Carroll plays, West Ham can shock Burnley at Turf Moor. West Ham are better away than they are at home so I can feel a shock result coming on in this one.
Everyone knows I’m a big Hammers fan and I do try to be as neutral as possible. Burnley are a strong side at home but I really do think we can do them over here and so I’m going for a 1-0 win to The Irons.
Billic will need the result as well which will give him a bit more breathing space with the fans!
Crystal Palace v Chelsea
Palace have GOT TO SCORE! If they don’t score this week I don’t know what I’ll do!!!
It’s a Chelsea win all day long, but Palace have got to score eventually – it’ll be 8 games if they don’t bag at the weekend!
The Eagles are struggling and play a Chelsea side who lost against a very good Man City team but there’s still no questioning their ability.
I’m backing Both Teams To Score at Selhurst Park, but there’s only one winner!
Manchester City v Stoke City
Here’s your banker for the weekend: Man City to win 4-0.
They were too good for Chelsea the other week and are just starting to get their mojo back and are playing with a bit of flow to their game.
Guardiola is just about starting to instill his philosophy into the City side and these boys are ready to go now; they’re more solid at the back and if they buy again in January they’ll be unstoppable – get on City to win this, 4-0 at 7/1!!
Swansea v Huddersfield
This could be quite a good game actually, but it’s a pretty hard one to call.
I like Huddersfield who remind me of my old Wigan side and they are showing stronger promise than Swansea – but saying that, it’s away at The Liberty Stadium…
I think Huddersfield will be coming to Swansea with a decent amount of confidence, and both sides would probably take a point here, so I’m going 1-1.
Saying that, it wouldn’t surprise me if Huddersfield come away with the win. Swansea are struggling and they don’t have the front line to worry defenders – as the old saying goes, you’re only as good as the strikers you’ve got!
Spurs v Bournemouth
I love the look of Tottenham at the minute – they’ve got a good team but their front line is just out of hand!
They’ve got Kane who is out of this world, Alli who comes off him, playing the 10 role, but looks to get into the box at every opportunity. You’ve got Son causing all sorts of aggro, Eriksen who floats around and puts in some lovely balls and then you’ve got the likes of Sissoko, who gallops all day long and is an absolute machine!
Any one of those boys could score any number of goals in a game and you wouldn’t be surprised, simply because of the power they’ve got.
Bournemouth will struggle at Wembley against this outfit and I’m backing Harry Kane to get a hat-trick: 4-0 Spurs.
Put your crash helmets on: Kane is in the building – GOOD NIGHT VIENNA!!
Watford v Arsenal
Watford won’t do too badly in the league this year, because going forward, they’re half decent.
It depends what Arsenal team turns up on Saturday, but to be honest, in the last six games, they’ve turned it round a little bit and for that reason I think they’ll be too strong for Watford.
Fair enough, it’s an away game but it’s still in London and I can see Arsenal scoring at least 2 in this one.
Let’s not forget that Ozil and Sanchez are looking for their money move next year, so they’ll be thinking ‘it’s time to put on a bit of a show’ for shop window time and will be looking to pull off a Bosman!!
Brighton v Everton
Everton are struggling this year aren’t they, but I can’t see them losing against Brighton. I think they’ve got a goal in them down on the South Coast.
Saying that, Brighton have done well this season since they’ve come up and they’ll fancy themselves to get something at their own Stadium.
I never go for score draws, so I’m going to mix it up a bit this week and tip another 1-1 draw.
Southampton v Newcastle
Another tough one here, but I think Southampton can beat Newcastle at home. Newcastle have had a bit of a lucky spell and are sitting in a false league position.
I do like this Saints side and this will be a fixture they’ll think is very winnable. Newcastle have got a long journey down as well which won’t be great for them, so for those reasons, I’m going for a 2-1 win to the Saints.
Leicester v West Brom
Wow – what a boring game this is!!
It really depends who turns up for each side but I think Vardy will really fancy his chances here, especially against the West Brom Centre Halves who will probably leave a bit of space in behind.
I’m going for a 2-0 Leicester win in this one and Vardy first goal scorer at 7/2 is a very nice bet!
Best of Luck,
