This game will be Nottingham Forest’s first at The City Ground this season, following Saturday’s game at Bristol City where an incredible 2,692 Nottingham Forest fans travelled to Ashton Gate to support their team.
With the home advantage on their side and on the back of a strong weekend performance, Nottingham Forest are the clear favourites to take all three points on Tuesday night.
Nottingham Forest – 13/10
Draw – 12/5
West Bromwich Albion – 11/5
Since 1999 there has only been one match between the two sides where both teams have scored in the same game (although this did come in their last match) which should make the BTTS market a very enticing selection amongst fans!
Nottingham Forest to Win & BTTS – 4/1
The 2018/19 season kicked off at the weekend and produced some unexpected and incredible results – few more so than The Baggies 2-1 loss to Bolton Wanders on Saturday.
West Brom had an unbelievably strong finish in the Premier League taking 11 points from a possible 15 since Darren Moore took over as caretaker manager and it is fair to say big things are expected of West Brom this season.
However, it was not to be, despite Moore’s side dominating possession and controlling the game they were unable to gain any points from the encounter. Leaving Moore with the following comments:
“We huffed and puffed, got into some good areas of the pitch but probably could have been more effective.”
Securing a point against Bristol City away from home was not quite what fans had hoped for but was still a strong performance on the road with the brand new troupe of players that Karanka has assembled for the season.
Nottingham Forest certainly did not have the greatest start to the game going 1-0 down within the first 10 minutes. However, The Reds recovered well and played themselves into the match, where they had 52% possession, created a total of 16 chances compared to Bristol City’s 8, and also made more passes and higher pass accuracy than their opponents. Forest secured a point thanks to Daryl Murphy’s header early in the second half.
Here is what Nottingham Forest’s manager had to say after the game.
“I can’t tell you exactly what I said at half-time, but it was the medicine the players needed. We had been fragile defensively and didn’t create anything going forward. I was more than pretty angry, I was very angry. The second half was so much better and I hope we realise now that the league has started.”
With both managers wanting more from their team, tonight’s game is gearing up to be a mouth-watering match up between NFFC and WBA.
In their last 9 clashes there has not been a single draw between these teams. Their last match up saw The Red’s coming out on top with a 3-1 win back in 2010 and BetBright are offering an unbelievable 16/1 on a similar outcome tonight.
Nottingham Forest 3 – 1 West Brom – 16/1
Daryl Murphy opened his score cards on Saturday, however Lewis Grabban is priced as the clear favourite to be the first goal scorer in this match up.
Forest’s new signing Jack Colback could be a decent price to score first at 25/1. Could he get The Reds in front by nicking a goal against West Brom just like he did when he was at Sunderland back in 2014?
To Score First against West Brom:
Grabban – 9/2
Soudani – 5/1
Murphy – 11/2
Colback – 25/1
