Real Madrid v Wolfsburg Betting Preview
THE big shock of the Champions League this season was the 2-0 defeat last week of Real Madrid against Wolfsburg at the Volkswagen Arena
Zinedine Zidane’s side are rated the unbackable 1/5 heavy favourites with BetBright to gain revenge this evening and for the heavy punters amongst us that really does look a good thing, but the market that I’m more interested in is who will qualify through to the semi-finals.
BetBright can’t split the two in the qualification market and this is the only bet to get involved in this evening and I’m taking Real Madrid to make another Champions League semi-final at 5/6.
I can see this being very one-sided and I fancy Real to run out comfortable winners and if they do get an early goal, well this could be a bit of an embarrassment.
Real have now scored a staggering 15 goals in their four home Champions League matches this season and they had the luxury of resting key players in Saturday’s 4-0 defeat against Eibar and with the returning super stars I like them to win this convincingly.
In the last 12 matches at the Bernabéu the Spaniards have scored a staggering 57 goals and it’s impossible to see them not scoring at least two goals in this one and this with their fantastic home record in the Champions League this could be rather one-sided.
In the last three home matches the La Liga giants have kept a clean sheet in every match and I really can’t see the Germans scoring in this one either and if you are playing on the correct-score markets you have to look at options with a zero next to Wolfsburg.
The last two matches for Real have ended in 4-0 wins and it wouldn’t surprise me at all to see another 4-0 win for the home side which at the 8/1 with BetBright which does looks the best play in the correct-score markets.
If you do fancy a shock then you can get a massive 27/4 on Wolfsburg winning this, but trust me that is not going to happen and at the weekend they were very disappointing in the 1-1 home draw with Mainz and they have to improve on that to have any chance in the Spanish capital.
Madrid’s main man is still Cristiano Ronaldo and although it mightn’t look much value but the 12/5 on the Portuguese star to open the scoring tonight is a fantastic bet.
Ronaldo has an unbelievable goalscoring in the Champions League and if they do as expected get off to a fast start I like CR7 to score two or more goals and I wouldn’t rule out another Champions League hat-trick.
Real Madrid to reach semi-final @ 5/6
Correct Score 4-0 @ 8/1
Ronaldo to score first @ 12/5
