Just like that, it’s the final week of the Season!
The last set of fixtures is sometimes a hard one to predict, as you can get some freak results, but I’ve got 13/14 right in my last two blogs, so I hope we can end the season on a high!
Arsenal know they’ve got to win against Everton. After the season they’ve had, they owe it to their manager and the fans, and they’ll be hoping to go out with a bang. Even if they do win, it might not be enough to secure top four.
The two claret and blues face each other when West Ham travel to Burnley on Sunday. West Ham aren’t too keen on the road and it’s a fair old way from the bottom of the country up to the Northern atmosphere. I don’t like Turf Moor – it’s a hard place to go and it could be a tough one for the Hammers. Saying that, the Burnley boys might still be recovering from their staying up celebrations so it’s a tough one to call!
Chelsea v Sunderland: GOAL FEST! The Champions will put on a proper show at The Bridge. The players Chelsea have got will annihilate Sunderland.
It’s John Terry’s last game at Stamford Bridge which will be an emotional one for him, the fans and the club. He’s been fantastic for them during his long time there and he deserves a great send off.
All the teams at the top are wanting to go out on a high and when Spurs travel to Hull, it’ll be no different. Tottenham will be too good for Hull, who are already down so I’m going for a 3-1 win to the visitors.
Leicester v Bournemouth will be an interesting one. I like Leicester at home and I reckon they’ll have a bit too much power and pace up top for Bournemouth. Bournemouth are a nice team that play some good football but Leicester will be too good up front and Jamie Vardy is going to score.
Liverpool host Middlesbrough at Anfield on Sunday and Liverpool will turn up and be full on. I think they could get a nice early goal and they still need to secure top four, so I’d say Klopp’s boys will be right at it: 3-1 to Liverpool.
Manchester United have the Europa League final on Wednesday, so it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Jose rest some of his key players when they play Crystal Palace at the weekend. Even if some players are rested, they’ve got the squad to beat Palace, especially at home. I like Palace; it could be tight and you never know, this one could be a shocker, but I think the chances are slim.
Whoever wins out of Southampton and Stoke will be whichever team is on the biggest win bonus!! I’m going for Stoke in this one: they’ve been in the Premier League longer, they’ve got more know-how and I think they’ll fancy it more on the day. It’ll be another tight one, but it’ll be The Potters who win this.
Swansea are safe now and will be on a real high when West Brom come to The Liberty Stadium. Clement has done a great job there and they play better football than West Brom – they’ll have more possession during the game which could give them an edge. Saying that, it’ll be tight with Tony Pulis having his side set up nice and solid, but I think the Swans will finish their season on a high.
The final Premier League game to discuss is Watford v Manchester City. City will be well up for it and I can’t see Watford getting any sort of result against this outfit – City should absolutely drum them and they’ll be far too good!
Finally from me, we’ve got the FA Cup Final to look forward to next week, where Arsenal play Chelsea at Wembley. Chelsea will win this all day long! Wenger’s boys could play them ten times and the outcome would be exactly the same. Antonio Conte will finish his first season in England as a double winning manager – what an achievement!
That’s it for this season – if I’ve won you any money along the way, make sure you buy me a pint if you see me up the bar over the summer… and if I’ve lost you any, give me a tap on the shoulder and I’ll get them in!!
Have a good summer everyone!
