Wolves v Sheffield Wednesday Betting Preview
Kenny Jackett thinks he can build a team around Joe Mason next season but he says that the striker needs to find more consistency if he is to succeed in the Championship.
Mason has been in and out of the Wolves side since signing from Cardiff in the January transfer window but showed his quality with last Saturday’s goal at Nottingham Forest. That was his first since February but Jackett believes he could be the perfect foil for a fit-again Nouha Dicko next season and is looking forward to seeing the pair in harness.
Sheffield Wednesday are Wolves’ final opponents this season but it remains to be seen how many of Carlos Carvahal’s first choice XI makes the starting line-up. The Owls have already secured their play-off spot and won’t be risking anyone in a match that carries no real significance.
Wolves were beaten 4-1 at Hillsborough just before Christmas, despite taking an early lead, so that should act as an incentive for the home side as they look to end the season on a high.
But Wolves squad owe their loyal fans one final effort before they hit the beach and we have priced them up at 13/10 in our Full Time Result betting to end a difficult campaign on a high against opponents who may already have one eye on the play-off semi-finals and have lost on their last four visits to Molineux in the Championship.
Dave Edwards will be desperately keen to force his way back into Wales’ manager Chris Coleman’s thinking ahead of Euro 2016 preparations and is 17/2 to be First Goalscorer and 14/5 to be an Anytime Goalscorer. Over (2.5) in our Goals Over/Under market is 5/6.
The match kicks off at 12.30pm on Saturday, May 7 at Molineux
