Leicester saw their European dreams crash and burn last night after they were knocked out of the Champions League by Atletico Madrid at the King Power Stadium, bringing their magnificent journey over the last eighteen months to an end.
There was controversy in the other match, where Real Madrid went through against Bayern Munich, winning 6-3 on aggregate. Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo scored in extra time from an offside position and Bayern’s Vidal was controversially sent off, but ultimately, it is Zidane’s men who progress to the next round of the competition.
Looking ahead to tonight’s action then, and Barcelona are 9/2 with BetBright to qualify for the next round and many would argue that the challenge they face is greater than their last against PSG. They go into the second-leg 3-0 down against Juventus who looked very solid in Turin and will be very hard to break down tonight. Barca will still believe they have enough to go through, so will come out all guns blazing against a strong defence, which may lead some punters to think a draw (4/1) may be the outcome of tonight’s match.
Tonight’s other game sees Borussia Dortmund travel to Monaco, where the hosts currently lead 3-2 on aggregate. Last week we saw two goals from Monaco’s Kylian Mbappe, who is currently 6/1 to score first with BetBright.
Before last week’s game, many would have expected the German side to go through to the semi-finals, however, going into the second leg of the tie, away from home and a goal down, they have it all to do and are 9/4 to progress to the next stage of the competition.
So far, the quarter finals have not disappointed. Juventus taking on Barcelona at the Nou Camp is a classic ‘Clash of the Titans’ match and Dortmund’s trip to Monaco is still all to play for, so there will be no doubt that the final ties of this stage in the Champions League will live up to everyone’s expectations.
